Refs: Home Cooking?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Did they really get that extra time out? I keep hearing about it but am not sure if it is true or not. I wouldn't be surprised. Of course, we did all we could to make sure they had enough ...

Of course, we did all we could to make sure they had enough time, the refs didn't need to give them extra ones if they did.

with his crew the Saints have gone 8-10. Some of those losses were foregone conclusions, some inexplicable. Few of the wins were "easy"

I'm guessing not, for exactly this reason. If they come out and give the refs an F, or even a D, for this game then all hell would break loose and the NFL would give themselves a problem they can't really fix. And chances are that would happen at least once or twice a month. It would be too much of a distraction from the game.

What made it worst is the official reach for his flag then put his hand back down.

Re: Refs: Home Cooking?

No doubt the refs handed this one to the home team. I thought the Pats did an excellent job with their defensive calls. But look, unless I know more about the rules than the refs, they cooked it for the Pats. That offside penalty (which should have been the correct call) baked the cake. That was like watching the bad actors on some of these "reality" shows. Obvious to the point of nausea.

Some questioning the hit across the middle in New England, It was a shoulder to the chest. No head or neck contact. Not a foul.

Agreed, but I look at it this way... even with the vast majority of calls in New England's favor, and the Saints having back-to-back road games (a killer), playing one of the AFC's leading Superbowl contenders coming off a loss, it still took a last second miracle with a blatent offensive hold for them to pull off the win.

We have 10 games left, and I don't see more than 3 or 4 losses.

We'll finish 11-5, maybe 12-4 if we get a few bounces our way.

We'll finish 15-1 if we get the same kind of favoritism New England got yesterday.
