Carmichael needs to take over the play calling IMO. SP has been calling games poorly all year and it finally came back to bite us.

We do! It still count on the W/L record. The Saints are jockeying for postseason position. It's best to get it out the way early so we won't find them in the same position that the Cowboys found themselves in for the last two seasons....

It was Brees. Not Payton.

Yes the officiating was questionable but to me its bad two minute management on the o. U never give brady or manning or brees that many tries to win the game after the d stops then twice. Better the pats than the bears conference wise but i did like the fight the saints showed to come back from a ten point deficit in a very hostile foxboro.

Seriously ... We ran it and they stopped the clock ... They knew where going to run it ... They had 8 defenders in the box expecting the run... Throw the ball at some point for God sake when you've gained 3 yards in 5 running plays ... This loss is not on our Defense.

The definition of insanity is doing the same over and over and expecting a different result.

Drew was off sure but this was not SP finest game either.

maybe Drew just does not have faith in the young wr yet. this is a game were we really missed lance. Drew would have turned to him all game long as a third option

"A loss before the bye this was the one to lose. This team has outplayed everyone's expectations so far. Just be happy that we are 5-1 with the loss to a non-division/conference opponent"

This isn't college football. There are no regular season conference championships. Every win or loss counts. I realize there are tie breakers that come into play, but if we finish one game behind for home field advantage this could be the one that cost us. Why? Because we had the ball with the lead, twice, in the last couple minutes. That is supposed to be a win. Losing is one thing, but giving it away is another.

And yes, this frustration is compounded by the fact that the refs heavily influenced the outcome... I don't know how some fans can say "just be happy" fill in the blank, after any loss.

I'm happy that life goes on, but I'm not happy about giving games away.

Brees missing Toon really hurt. That was a gimme route.

Football CEO laid what NE had to do to control the Saints offense ... He called it perfectly ...

This is on Payton, completely. The D got a freakin' TURNOVER with a 4 point lead with less than 3 minutes left. The Pats had 1 timeout and the 2 minute warning, but we do nothing with the possession and punt it back to Brady with 1:13 left and 70 yards to go with no timeouts. You do not give Brady a 2nd chance to win a game. Payton is squarely to blame for this one. But I'll take 5-1 going into a bye week with a "tougher-than-you'd-think" Buffalo team next. Payton is the blame today, but I have faith he'll get over this quickly.
