What to do with #33

Jabari Greer is our weak link in the secondary this year hands down, maybe even the weakest link on defense period, he's constantly picked on. He has the quickness but it always getting beat usually by bigger WR's because he's to SMALL or just not PHYSICAL enough especially when it's a jump ball we all remember what Julio & Roddy did to him last year and Kenbrell Tompkins this year the Seahawks game @ home in 2011 anything 15 yards & more down the field I don't want him there. I think it's time for Corey to get a chance to showcase his skills as the #2 WR he can bump & run press jump routes and can make CONSISTENT plays for us. Greer's lost some steps it's about time he gets gone.

You do nothin, right now he is surprisingly healthy.... I think because in a lot of your looks vaccaro will come down and man cover and jenkins the same His play hasn't been stellar. but far from horrible. I admit they are picking on him. But you can't get anything for him at this point, I had hoped Corey white would be ready to take over but Ryan seems happy to send white on the occasional unnecessary blitZ

Agreed, he looks like our 2nd best CB to me.

Greer has been the one constant since our sb run. He just like any corner gets beat time to time.

And I'll bet with Lewis on the other side QB's are often forced to throw elsewhere. I'd like to see target stats for each one of them.

He looks vulnerable too big and or physical receivers. As usual. No worse then normal. Just ready for a replacement.

A little safety help over the top would not hurt, Greer has been the target in the secondary. Cory White has looked pretty good so far but as of now I would stick with Greer until he gets toasted then see if White can become the #2.

So we defend Ingram for sucking for 2+ years or Meachum for being a disappointment in a 1st round pick. Greer has a couple of bad plays and we are ready to draw and quarter him. Unbelievable. If you guys haven't noticed our secondary is pretty thin with the injuries so what do you suggest. White how do Know he's a upgrade at all. I saw him get 2 personal fouls last week granted they were weak calls but still he could have went alittle lower and I've seen him get burned a few times in coverage

he is here for a while. contract has a few years left on it. besides he is great to have around to teach the younger cb

The TD that got called back against the Bills is first time I remember him getting completely burned. The one against N.E. was just a great pass and catch. He had good position, missed deflecting it by about two inches.

We can't have Superstars at every position. Greer is solid.

Really? Corey did all he could to give the game away last week.

He had a few good plays. His height works against him. No doubt

What!!!!! Greer is a beast out there,, if he is the weakest link our defense is #1 (actually top 5 in pass defense)

Re: What to do with #33

This is junk. Greer may have lost half a step and he may not be a true #1 corner anymore, but he is still a really good player and I would wager in the top 10% of corners in the NFL.

Re: What to do with #33

Greer has lost a step but there is no way I'd let him out of the game. The only reason he is seeing more his way is because Lewis is doing so well on the other side. Remember, Greer WAS our #1 corner till we got Lewis. Keep him in.

Re: What to do with #33

Nothing, he's on contract until the end of the year; he's a great, experienced veteran adding quality depth to a critical position; he's a great teammate and role model for younger players...

You do however, spell his snaps with Corey White so the White can get experience and you can scout him for draft need analysis and projecting the roster, depth chart forward...

This is exactly the kind of problem you want your team to have...

I wouldn't say top 10%, but I agree with everything else you posted. He's upper half for certain.

If I had to guess what to do with #33, I'd say extend his contract.

Don't forget, that pass wouldn't have ever gotten off that nicely if Junyah wasn't being held.

Yeah, I guess math has never been my strong suit. 10% seemed conservative at the time, but now that I think about it. If every team had 5 corners, then 32x5=160. Greer would have to be one of the 16 best in the league. That's borderline possible but not likely.

Still he is a real good player. We're lucky to have two very good starting CB's.

Greer is a more than capable starter and Lewis is a beast. What's more is we can probably spend some time developing our younger corners like White, Sweeting and Robinson (when he's healthy again) and given that Ryan schemes around his players' strengths I would say we'll be ok.

Me personally I think he's overrated calling him a BEAST since when? Maybe 2 years ago & Alshon Jeffery got the best of him(& that's being nice)but I'll wait till the cowboys game to see where he really is

He also shouldn't have been covering him alone.

Re: What to do with #33

Greer has been our man in the back end for years.........he still is in my opinion. He is a little slower but he is also a sure tackler. P Rob can't tackle......and I don't think he's capable of getting any better.
Greer is solid and that's what we need. He's being tested because of Lewis and is still playing well. Leave him right where he is.
