Uggghhh - season could have ended yesterday
 

I'm sure this happens more than I would want to think about and maybe there's not a replay to show it, but we had a VERY close call yesterday on Brees.


I'm just now seeing the game. If you look at the replay on the 2nd and 7 completion to Colston (Colston's first catch) - right after Bills CB McKelvin is being tended to for an injury - they show one of the Bills players headed right into Drew's leg. Happened about 2:30 to go in the first quarter.

That had ACL tear written all over it. Thankfully he picked up his foot and it was not planted when he got hit.

That fraction of a difference in balance very well could have saved the season...

Just haven't seen so many bad licks and near injuries on him in a LONG time.

O line is getting better, but still needs to step up its game...

If you watch closely, a few plays later, another hit on Drew below the knees. I made a comment about the Bills targeting Drews knees during the live chat.

He could have fallen off of a Super Bowl float, or drowned in Matt RyNs tears.

Guy almost blew his ankle out on another play, he picked his cleat up a half second before that.

Guy wrenched his arm back hard on a QB hit during a preseason game last year, he was shaking it out as he walked off the field.

Every time your QB gets sacked, hit, or hurried, there's a chance for injury. Rough sport, that's why we like it.

Many people have noticed that Drew is "taking the sack" this year and going down, instead of trying to make something heroic and crazy happen at the last second. Remember his San Diego shoulder injury happened when he was chasing after a fumble, it was a very crazy and wild play.

They need to do a better job of protecting Drew, of course they do, but it's important to remember that perfection is impossible -- it's not the Harlem Globetrotters playing the Washington Generals out there .
