Not a MI lover by any means, and no matter what I will stand by and say the PT is a better RB. Period, end of statement.

What is being overlooked here is two things.
1. It seemed like the O line was blocking much better
2. They actually threw quite a few swing passes and other passes to Ingram.

Obviously 1 helps ALL of the RB's play better.
Part 2 helps Ingram. They all know he is not a speedster, and is not going to be people to the edge and they don't have to have someone shadowing him. That is why since teams "key" on Sproles more than MI or PT that Sproles will never have great rushing numbers. The D co-ordinators know or thought they know that shutting down Sproles and Graham will shut us down.

Ingram and PT should run better than Sproles. It's just that tonight it seemed like MI actually made a few people miss with some cuts and once the D had to be aware that he could be thrown the ball they didn't stack up on the run. PT has been doing this for years and better understands how he fits into the offense, maybe this was a light bulb moment for a few people, throw some screens or bubble passes, or make MI a outlet receiver and the teams can't tee off against the run.

SF gives up on average 3.9 per carry. If our RB's can meet or exceed that, I'm OK with their performance.

I am happy for Ingram, I thought he would run like that from day 1 this year.

Lets be honest, 1 good game in 3 years really doesn't keep that bust label away from him. Even Jamarcus Russel had a few good games. I hope Ingram Keeps running this way, even half of what he did last night would be great. Our running game rests on the shoulders of our O-line.

props to Ingram but ill still take Ivory over him any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Before the IRvory people post, just remember in Ingram's 3 season he has only finished 1 without injury.

Stopped reading this uninformed diatribe right here.

Last two seasons
4.17 YPA (not bad at all)

Last 13 games (from when Kromer returned to O-line coach last year until now)
4.6 YPA (uhhh, pretty damn great, that is top 10 YPA in the NFL)

Please, 3.9 YPC last year and 3.9 YPC the year before that. Stats are stats lets not cherry pick to make turds smell like roses. Call it what it is Danno.

We always judge players on their most recent performances, that being said Ingram has a solid B for the season. If he keeps this type of running going, great, however that 1 game doesn't change the previous 2 years.
