NEW Mark Ingram thread (post Dallas)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Doubt he gets more than 5 carries this week or breaks 30 yards. He took advantage of a injury plagued defense, good for him. If he produces this week or strings together weeks of this performance then maybe I'll change ...

If he produces this week or strings together weeks of this performance then maybe I'll change my stance until then I still see him being in the wrong system here. Don't know if it's been discussed but he needs to stop acting like an "idiot" after every carry, act like you have run for a positive gain before

Just for the record, Ingram has played in 30 games in his NFL career and has 10 games where he averages over 4.1 yards per carry so that's a little better than 1 good game.

And for his career he's now at 4.1 YPC. While thats not great, it isn't bad.

I cant think of a more perfect stage to settle this than 49ers, Falcons, Seahawks, Panthers, Rams, Panthers, Bucs.

Which games is he going to get 80+ yards and over 4.1 YPC in? How many goal line punches will he get? How many short yardage 1st downs can we expect?

Its easy to spin partial stats... Put the faith on the line and predict.

Prediction...
If he's hit 3 yards behind the line, he won't gain much.
If the O-line opens up decent holes for him, he'll play well.

Last time I called a 100+ yard game we had it, and I was called out and spit roasted. Ive never come across people so angry about success.

Lol we'll be fine ... If we can run even half as good we'll raise a few more Lombardi trophies before Drew hangs em up ... If we do it right , we should be a dynasty ... All we've ever been missing was a defense and a running game and still won one without either ...

Those teams allow, on average....

49ers 3.9 y/a
falcons 4.6 y/a
Seattle 4.2 y/a
Panthers 3.8 y/a
Rams 4.2 y/a
Bucs 3.8 y/a

The individual games can skew numbers e.g.. were the Saints ahead and the other teams were expecting the run... were rushes up the middle being used to set up play action or screens to the flat...etc...etc...

But you'd think he and the other running backs could be close to those numbers overall.
