Don't blame the defense during the first half as they have done their job. If the offense continues to go 3 and out, then the defense will get tired and points will then be scored by the Panthers. As usual, Brooks isn't getting it done. If the Saints lose this game today and the Falcons continue to lose and Haz doesn't make the QB switch, then he needs to be shown the door. Just my opinion.

Excellent assessment. The defense can\'t play the whole game.........special teams and defense have given the offense every opportunity. It is not going to happen with Brooks today.
If Haslett doesn\'t have the guts to make the QB change at halftime, we know exactly where the problem lies.

Agree !!!!

Haslett will most likely blame the fans .......

Fans need to step up the noise in the dome .....

Commentators are all over Brooks ....

 Well, Deuce is now having to run and throw the ball. Down in the red zone again and a FG. Hazlett blamed everybody but the QB at hafltime. Trick plays won\'t do it. Unless the defense scores we\'re scr__ed.

Season ends on Brooks interception .

He should have been pulled .

Haslett can blame the fans , the basics and the desire , but a smart coach would have pulled an ineffective quarterback ........

I\'m going to add to my initial post. I find myself embarrassed to the point where I can hardly stand it. My 9 year old son can see the offense problem and just can\'t understand why they just don\'t make the QB change that might just change momentum of the game. Now we can expect for Jake Delhomme to get picked up by another team during the off season and will not have been given the opportunity to make a difference. This is horrible and Hazlett is to blame. I find myself actually hoping that Jake gets picked up by Carolina and picks us apart next year. I have said for 2 years now that Jeff Blake was treated unfairly and should have got his job back and I still feel that way and I feel similarly about Jake. Brooks is not hurt so no one can use that as an excuse, and even if he is, I blame him even more for not doing what is right. I really think that the poor play of Brooks rubs off on the entire team. This sickens me but I\'ll feel better tomorrow.

Haslett can blame the fans all he wants. It won\'t do much good. Sure, we may be negative, but hell, the Saints probably have some of the most loyal fans out there. We\'re talking about a franchise that has seen more losing seasons than winning seasons. And we still go to the games. We, as fans, have every right to be angry at this team. Some people pay an arm and a leg just so they can go to the Dome and watch this team play. We had every shot in the world this season and the team, coaches, etc. blew it. So go ahead Haslett, blame us all you want. But I ask you this, are the fans the ones down on the field playing? NO. Haslett should do some soul-searching, swallow his pride, and realize that it\'s his coaching and his players that are losing these games. All we do is pay to watch you play - and lose - games. I will always love this team, no matter what. But I am sick to my stomach at this point.

The sad part is :

Haslett knew the fans favorite was Delhomme . The stands were chanting his name .

Haslett thumbed his nose at Saints fans and stood there and watched as Brooks underthrew , overthrew and threw wildly . A quarterback change would have confused the Carolina defense and a healthy Jake , who has done well in 2 previous relief efforts , might have been able to move the offense .

Haslett simply would not bend to fans .

Saints head coach Jim Haslett describing the atmosphere in the New Orleans area this season: “I’ve never seen such negative fans.

Hasletts comments at half time , \" We are just not doing the basics \" . This is simply what a coach does , he coaches his team and teaches them how too .

2 years in a row , this team has fallen late in the season . Late season collapses are about coaching . There is too much talent on this team for this .

They did it in Tampa , Haslett needs to step down .

I do think it starts with Haslett and it trickles down to the players. A change must be made at a lot of postiions to include the coaching staff. The end of the season was very embarrassing and at the same time was very predictable. I mean how many of you thought we were heading in this path right at the begining of the second half of the season? It doesn\'t take a head coach to see what was going on. I am so pissed right now, that i\'ll step forward and say Brooks lost this season away for us. Not to start a Brooks controversy, but he had to have known how bad the injury has been but his ego wouldn\'t let him step down in fear of what happened to Jeff Blake two years ago. As Jim Morra would have said...piss poor performance.
