I HATE Thursday night football!

I love Thursday night football.. It frees up Sunday for my family.

The crew wanted to get out of Atlanta before the riots started or the store shelves were empty of eggs.

National spotlights - only game on yada yada. Monday Night - I am cool with that. Ya start adding Thursday - and that is just plain greedy.

I set aside my Sundays - for yes, the saints. Have done it for years. Ask me what I am doing Sunday Nov what-ever of 2017 - I am watching the Saints. Easy. I am an easy person. I am from the big Easy.

I read the sports section on Monday and again on Saturday - I buy beer - I buy food. I have friends over. I love it

I go to two games a year (usually away these days - Seattle this year - WHO DAT!)

But sheeze - I have a life too.

I am not ON the team - THURSDAY?!!!

THURSDAY?

Baseball is played on Thursday.

Hockey is played on Thursday.

I MISSED THE F%*$*ing Atlanta New Orleans game ( I think my first in history) because I have a life.

Yes, I knew it was on the schedule. Yes, I texted w friends getting updates. Yes, I am THRILLED we won.

But I know - in years when the Saints have sucked and Falcons were kicking ass - it was a game lying beneath the NFL Radar - Saints Falcons is a game. and (like this year) the opposite was true - the Saints are kicking ass and the Falcons suck - - and LOW AND BEHOLD...

It was (as I can only tell by highlights) an awesome game.

And I missed it.

I MISSED IT! and am reduced to 2 mins and 34 secs of NFL.Com highlights

I HATE HATE HATE Thursday night football.

Anyone form the deep south KNOWS Friday night is game night - (Highschool ball) I live 1 block for Oakland Highschool - this is still true.

Saturday afternoon is college ball and Sunday -- we bar-b-q, drink beer and watch the pros.

WHO THE HELL can Bar-b-q at rush hour (west coast) on a Thursday? THURSDAY?!!!

Get Rid of it. if it throws my schedule off ( the arguably casual fan) I can't imagine what it does to the players.

Football is making a mistake with all the weird new schedule dates. Also,
only having the game available on cable is a bad idea. Think Boxing.

One of the things that make the NFL so successful, is its accessibility.
Everyone can watch it.
It always came on at exactly the same time, same day.

Try to keep up with Basketball, Hockey, Baseball, and you need a special
program to find who is playing when.

But football comes on Sunday after Church, then there's a 3pm game. Stay
tuned for 60 minutes next, except on the WEst Coast, where you'll get your local news.

You know this.
You plan your life around this.

The dumbest thing the NFL could have done is CHANGE anything.
... and yet, they insist on changing things.

I bet ESPN is on their knees that they have the Saints @ Seahawks coming up next week...

Most of the MNF matchups have blown this season...

I'd like to do away with Thursday and MNF as well...

The Saturday Playoff thing is BS as well, it give a team an unfair advantage in scouting their opponent that plays on a Sunday playoff...

Sunday football watchers with out cable get how many games on a Sunday? 2 out of 12? ...if the rabbit tears are facing the right direction.

I think we all agree the NFL would sell its soul for $ correct? If a network was willing to drop their Thursday night line up and pay for the rights I've got to think the NFL would sell the rights and people with out cable could watch the game.

I understand exiled. For him and everyone in PST, yes , you do have a life and I think the game broadcast time is really early or ends really late in your time zone. People are getting home from work, kids, hmwk, dinner or turning in bed for work and school.

Sundays and MNF football was it and is old for me.
Thursday NF is new for me, but for others, it is going to be a common thing. They always had TNF. It has been almost 10 years for TNF.
I am ok with TNF.

What I do not understand and do not want is the Goodell NFL to go to is NFL in Europe.
SF played a game in England this year.
I would not want to the Saints play a season game again in England. They had a season game before one year if I am not mistaken.
Travel time for an away game here can be tough. England?

If the NFL wants a European NFL league, fine. Just keep the American NFL teams here and the European ones there.
