I like the improvement I have seen from this team so far

We started off the year HORRIBLE on the offensive line. Drew was picking himself up or getting hurried on what seemed like every other play. We could not run the ball for squat. Hell one game Brees was the leading rusher until garbage time.
We also started off not being able to defend the run. Ivory burned us for a career high 150 some odd yards.
While both areas still could use work they are GREATLY improved. Our offensive line has started to give Brees more time and are opening up holes for our backs. They are banged up but still look to be improving in spite of it. They even did a decent job yesterday with Evans out.
Our run defense has pretty much become shut down. Neither Gore nor Jackson really did squat against us when we were getting gashed in other games. I think Harper may have a good bit to do with that.
Teams that improve as the season goes on and teams that get hot during the playoffs are the ones that make it to the Super Bowl. Thats some good coaching right there.
I think we will turn it up to high for the playoffs and have a real good shot at it.
Just getting there will be tough, we may drop another 2 or even 3 but we will get in. Then its a whole new season.

I am very surprised too! Even after losing 2 starting CB for the season we are still good against the pass. The D has been revolutionized, Thank you for your time Vilma, Smith, and Harper, Welcome Jordan, Vaccaro, and Lewis!

A balanced attack is what we are looking for going into games this time of the year. The Saints have that now and with this little time off before Seattle, maybe we can continue to get healthy. When a team is winning with a balance attack, first, any opposing team had a harder time preparing for their game and also players who are nicked up are more inclined to play better through their injuries because they want to be a part of this winning atmosphere! Take a few days off here and come back ready to pluck some Seattle Seachickens!!!

We're racking up the wins but the CB situation worries me in the playoffs. I do have a new respect for Greer in retrospect. Though he'd look like he'd screw up more than a few big plays nobody could just pick on him throughout a game. I hope White develops overnight. That kid has potential but sometimes I feel he messes up just trying to do too much.

talk to me after we are done with this stretch of games. the OL has improved a bit but there is still way to much chip blocking required on the edges. the middle of the pocket is still getting pushed back a little to much for liking.

seattle and carolina have a front 4 that is just as good if not better than jets. i am in a holding pattern on this one

I am very pleased too! In my mind, whoever wins the Saints versus Seapigeons contest will be the #1 seed. We really need to win that game. And I'm thrilled we get 10 days to prepare for that one. I hope SP has some more tricks up his sleeve.

True Dat on all points ... Brees was slammed hard twice in the Atlanta game and had 5 hurried throw aways trying to save himself ... Chip Blocking is helping with edge somewhat but then proves problematic because the receivers are easier to pickup and cover not allowing separation Drew's read progressions time are extended which is not good for Drew's well being ... If not for Drew's excellent pocket awareness he's almost always .5 seconds away from being creamed ... But WHEN the run game is working and demands respect from D-Line is the only time you see Drew with enough time run thru his entire progression.

I don't think Evans has been healthy all year. Hopefully the extra time helps. We need to draft heavy on oline Brees isn't getting any younger and we need to protect him as much as possible. Hopefully he will come off some money and but himself a competent line.

And Carolina and Seattle will be better and more physical than any D we have faced. Scares me because we haven't done all that great against defenses like that. TBH I think Carolina maybe the best team in the NFC right now with the way they are playing.

No doubt carolina is good, but i dont think they are the best, the last 6 games they have played and won are not anything special except for the 49ers which have yet to beat a contender this year, and all of their road games were also against bad teams(except 49ers)
