Showdown in Seattle! All of the talking heads are asking if Marshawn Lynch will have another BEAST MODE run vs. the Saints. Aren’t you sick of it? I know I am. This also marks the week where there are NO MORE REGULAR SEASON BYE WEEKS. Anyway, this NFL week starts with key matchups on Thanksgiving Day, and wraps up with the key contest at Seattle between the Saints and Seahawks. This will probably be the one game I will record AND KEEP on my DVR. The stakes are high, and the winner of this one will be the frontrunner for #1 seed throughout the playoffs.
Can I get a WhoDat!?

THANKSGIVING DAY Thursday November 28th

Week 13, Game 1: Packers (5-5-1) @ Lions (6-5)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals (…important for seeding in the playoffs).

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Packers, although a good argument could be made for pulling for the Lions, since Aaron Rodgers will be returning soon (and the Packers will likely run the table after he returns). The Lions are ALWAYS tough at home on Thanksgiving Day. They will likely be on their game, since they are still in the thick of the playoff hunt.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 6.5 out of 10.

d. Vegas odds on this game: Lions by 6- ½.

Week 13, Game 2: Raiders (4-7) @ Cowboys (6-5)

a. Why it is important: Cowboys are an NFC rival. Saints own the tiebreaker with them.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Cowboys (hear me out). We want the Cowboys to win, to help the Saints opponents’ strength of schedule record. I will have to hold my nose and pull for the Raiders to lose for that reason (ugggh)!

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 6 out of 10.

d. Vegas odds on this game: Cowboys by 10.

Week 13, Game 3: Steelers (5-6) @ Ravens (5-6)

N/A: AFC opponents. This game has huge implications for both teams, who are chasing the Bengals in the AFC North.

Vegas odds on this game: Ravens by 3.

Sunday December 1st

Week 13, Game 4: Titans (5-6) @ Colts (7-4)

N/A: AFC opponents. Titans can close to within a game of the division leading Colts with a win.

Vegas odds on this game: Colts by 4.

Week 13, Game 5: Broncos (4-6) @ Chiefs (9-1)

N/A: AFC opponents. Grudge match; Chiefs will be looking to avenge a loss to the Broncos a couple of weeks ago.

Vegas odds on this game: Broncos by 5.

Week 13, Game 6: Jaguars (2-9) @ Browns (4-7)

N/A: AFC opponents.

Vegas odds on this game: Browns by 7.

Week 13, Game 7: Buccaneers (3-8) @ Panthers (8-3)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC South rivals. Panthers are a
game behind the Saints for the division lead. Buccaneers have come on strong lately, but the Panthers have been even hotter, winners of 7-straight. I guess they’re due for a loss, but that’s not likely since the Panthers are very tough at home.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Buccaneers. Bucs’ rookie QB Glennon has had two games in a row with a QB rating of OVER 130! He will definitely be tested in this game. Let’s hope he gets it done!

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4 out of 10.

d. Vegas odds on this game: Panthers by 9 .

Week 13, Game 8: Bears (6-5) @ Vikings (2-8-1)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals. Bears are tied for first place in the NFC North, and also in contention for a Wildcard. Vikings nearly pulled off an upset at Green Bay last week.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Bears. This will help the Saints’ strength of schedule record.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 5.5 out of 10.

d. Vegas odds on this game: Bears by 1 .

Week 13: Game 9: Cardinals (7-4) @ Eagles (6-5)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are hot, but the Cardinals have been even hotter. This will be a good matchup.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Cardinals, not only for strength of schedule, but also because of the Saints own tiebreaker with Arizona. The eagles have a very good record in the NFC (5-2), and it would be better for us to see that knocked down a peg.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 5.5 out of 10.

d. Vegas odds on this game: Eagles by 3- ½.

Week 13: Game 10: Dolphins (5-6) @ Jets (5-6)

N/A: AFC opponents.

Vegas odds on this game: Jets by 1.

Week 13, Game 11: Falcons (2-9) @ Bills (4-7)

a. Why it is important: Falcons are an NFC South rival. Falcons were officially mathematically eliminated from playoff contention at the hands of the Saints last Thursday. But this game is important because we have at least two (2) big reasons for the Falcons to win at Buffalo: a) it gives the Falcons a lower pick in the NFL Draft, and b) it helps the Saints opponents’ strength of schedule stats. The Bills are a tough team (especially at home), and have had one of the toughest regular season schedules in 2013.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Bills to lose (I just can’t stand saying it the other way).

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4.5 out of 10.

d. Vegas odds on this game: Bills by 4- ½.

Week 13, Game 12: Rams 5-6) @ 49’ers (7-4)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals. The Rams have quietly become a very dangerous team. Jeff Fisher has them believing in his system, and they are a young and talented squad. They also give the 49’ers fits, and are not afraid of them.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Rams. If the Rams win, they even their record at .500, and get right back in the hunt for a Wildcard spot.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4.5 out of 10

d. Vegas odds on this game: 49’ers by 9- ½. (Buddy D. would have said “Take the Rams and points” in this one!

Week 13, Game 13: Patriots (8-3) @ Texans (2-9)

N/A: AFC opponents.

Vegas odds on this game: Patriots by 9. Somehow, I think the Texans might ambush New England in this one. I don’t think the Patriots cover the spread, but we’ll see.

Week 13, Game 14: Bengals (7-4) @ Chargers (5-6)

N/A: AFC opponents.

Vegas odds on this game: Pick ‘em. Phillip Rivers is having a great season (pass completion over 70%). This game has huge AFC playoff implications.

(SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)

Week13, Game 15: Giants (4-7) @ Redskins (3-8)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals. Neither is a threat to catch the Saints in the playoff picture.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Redskins. This will weaken the strength of schedule for all teams that have played the Giants (including the Cowboys).

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4.5 out of 10

d. Vegas odds on this game: Giants by 1.

Monday December 2nd Monday Night Football

Week 13, Game 14: Saints (9-2) @ Seahawks (10-1)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are vying for the #1 seed throughout the playoffs. All we need to do is go back to the 2009 season, and remember how important it was for the Vikings (who got the #2 seed) to travel to New Orleans. You don’t need me to say much more than that, folks.

b. Desired outcome: You’re not serious with this question, are you? WhoDat!

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 6.5 out of 10

d. Vegas odds on this game: Seahawks by 6- ½.

Re: 2013 NFC CONTENDERS' CORNER (Playoff Contenders' Info) Week 13

We better be saving all the good vibes up for MNF because nothing has went our way so far in other games.

Just going to have to go 8-0 from here and win the whole thing...
