how many times, over the years have you seen so many safeties on the field at once?

i sure like our new D coach, too.

Re: Vacarro :: Somewhat like running into a truck.

He was even trash talking to Smith and for once I didn't see Smith trash talking back. Guess he knew they were getting it handed to them...

Kenny is a beast and will only get better. Fearless and instinctive, loved the pick since day one.

Vacarro did an excellent job in coverage and he also tackled very well this game. Probably his best game so far.

Did you see when he leveled Smith on the los at the 1 yard line?
That was right in front my seats.

He'll be an all-pro safety here in a couple years.

I remember people not wanting Vacarro and begging for Jarvis Jones or even KeKe Mingo. We got it right. I knew this dude would be this great.

I love how aggressive they played. The Panthers DBs were playing dirty all game, lots of shove and tugs, especially that hit on Ingram. So we brought it to them and force fed them a fist full of pain.

Re: Vacarro :: Somewhat like running into a truck.

We might be starting a new trend with 3 safeties in the backfield. I know its been done before but I mean trendy like the read option in the NFL.

Vacarro is an absolute monster and makes other guys around him play better. Those are tangibles and intangibles. AWESOME!!!

Wasn't there a thread on here last week bashing him and comparing him to players that have been in the league 3-5 years longer than him?

Vaccaro is a beast and will be special in this league. May turn out to be the best player we have drafted in recent memory.

There was a thread about him not being in the ROY running. Is that the one you're referring to? I don't remember much bashing though.

Yep! Just wait for next years draft and see how wrong most people say we got it the day after the draft.

A lot of people want to draft a LT in the first round when our glaring issue is at C.

Oh I do remember now Dude. But it wasn't bashing him as much as it was thinking he'd progress better if Rob Ryan wasn't playing him at so many positions. The article was extremely complimentary of Vaccaro, just not about they way he's being used as a rookie.

Re: Vacarro :: Somewhat like running into a truck.

I have to admit I wasn't particularly excited about the Saints picking him where they did, because I thought there were some players on the board at the time that were higher in talent and playing a position that was a bigger need than safety...

But, he has played really well, and with all the injuries to the DBs, he has more than earned his place on this roster. I just hope he doesn't get more concussions as he seems pleasantly reckless most of the time on the field - I'd hate for the Saints to lose a talented young player like Vaccaro.

White played a really good game as well, so the young DBs are looking rather strong.
