Man, why some of you hatin\' on Joe for celebration? Y\'all need to remember a few things:

1. The NFL first and foremost is a business. And America loves flashy people, who can also put up with their play what they say and do with their mouths get more highlight reel time. Chad Johnson, OT, Joe Horn....they\'ll get more time than Mr.Nice Guy who quietly goes about taking care of business.

2. It pumps up the team, our fans, and pisses off the other team. Heck ya, let\'s get into the other team\'s head when we can. The media eats it up and the team gets more talk before game time (AND IF the team is legit, which ours isn\'t) they take that as fuel and intimidate the opposing team with it. Our team crumbles when complimented.

3. Football is not a sport. It is a battle. It is the one \'game\' in which the philosophy \'do anything to win\' truly applies. I believe in sportsmanship. I don\'t believe in cheating, or hurting an opponent. I do believe in giving a hand to your opponent when he is down or after the game. I love Paterno\'s philosophy about no celebration and no names on jerseys for college football.

BUT the NFL is part Roman Gladiator, part circus, part male soap opera.
Showmanship does count, even for people like me who truly don\'t enjoy it or care for it. I realize its need in this day and age. We all complain about showmanship, talking shhhhhh etc., but we are the ones eating that stuff up.
