Charles Brown has been the downfall of us all.

Charles brown cannot handle Robert Quinn. He is racking up penalties in CRUCIAL situations, which is his norm.

First throw of the game- interception because pressure allowed by Charles brown. And the stupid Illegal hands to the face penalty on the momentum recovering touchdown. it just seems to me like Charles Brown collapses in the most important situations and it is quite frustrating seeing him unable to handle Quinn.

Lets make the second half ours Charlie, I've got faith in you man.

On the bright side, no how is our O-Line as bad as the Giants or Falcons...

On the dark side, we really need LT and Center help...

Re: Charles Brown has been the downfall of us all.

Agreed. A massive part of Drew Brees' skillset includes his ability to step up into the pocket to avoid outside pressure, but the middle of the pocket has allowed tons of pressure, giving him nowhere to go except outside.

My biggest issue isn't even the pressure allowed by Brown.
It's the penalties in clutch moments.

I'm glad Sean benched him, because he was getting exploited all game, and once Strief came in, Quinn became much more quiet (Not silent, but quiet). And that's saying a lot for Strief coming off a completely different position on the other side of the line.

Brown's development was looking up over the past few weeks, after Sean confronted him about his PENALTIES.
But after today, I've got to say that he has not improved over the past year,he has actually taken some steps backwards. He did much better last year, and many of us know what THAT means..

Perhaps armstead will have a breakout this summer, or we will pick up a veteran via free agency or trade.

Either way, it is clear that Drew's contract is hurting our O-Line's depth more than anything else on the team

After losing Goodwin, I knew we had a rough patch to go through.
When we lost Bushrod, my heart dropped.
What made our offense nearly impossible to stop was the combination of pro-bowlers Jahri Evans and Nicks tandem.

That 100 million dollar contract has run off our pro-bowl caliber protection.

NFC South is our home,
better not play us in the dome!

That's not true, the Saints have never really "over-paid" for the O-Line... They let Nicks, Goodwin, and Bushrod go because they were asking for too much money.

Guards are the only position they pay for, Grubbs and Evans...

Our O-line is up one game down the next, I hope we draft at least 2 road graders this next draft. Our O just is not that consistant. Maybe we need to raid some teams practice squad.

I would not trust a practice squad O-Lineman to keep Drew safe, just my opinion

Thats true, all of those guys became pro-bowl caliber players here in New Orleans, so that helps. But I feel that we would have, or could have had the opportunity to keep some talent around- were it not for such a massive contract being out. Still if an inflated price was the issue with them, simply look elsewhere for players. (Not to mention having a new Offensive-Line coach)

I just remember Coach Sean saying that the position kept him up at night over the summer, with the same players we have now.

Either way, very much looking forward to seeing how things pan out, but 'till the offseason, we've got some panthers to poach.

Certainly not for the blindside position, nor Center, but I'm sure our that they'll bring in the right guys for next year, or draft compensationally. We already have brought in, by far, some of the most successful small-name talent to the NFL. But I wouldn't expect a change till after we win the Super Bowl.
