Believe me I really like Stills, just drove out to Gulfport for a signing with him and Kenny Vaccaro, but our other guys are starting to get up there in age and lose the edge they used to have. Meachem, Moore, and Colston are all right at 30 and I believe the between Meachem and Moore one of them isn't coming back to us this off-season. I want to see how we do with Morgan back, but for now I think you are right and we need a fifth receiver to develop.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

I was leaning towards going after another 3-4 pass rusher, but now I feel like we need a true #1 wide out to stretch the field/take some pressure off of JG. If we had a Jackson/Megatron type threat at wide out, Seattle wouldn't be able to just triple coverage JG and that blows the play book wide open.

No argument about keeping the average age down; but watch the playoff game, especially the playoff game that had more camera angles than a regular season game...

Drew's arm strength and accuracy need a closer assessment; it's not just the receivers coming back for the deep ball either; of the curl routes for Colston, the ball was thrown to the wrong side of his body, taking away the advantage Colston briefly had and allowed the Seahawk defenders to make a play...

Not opposed to taking another receiver late in the draft for development; you can never have too many good handed WR or fleet-footed CB; I really like Jeff Janis of Saginaw Valley State College in the fourth round...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

How many of those bad throws were due to the weather though?

But theres no Megatron thats going to be in the draft where we are. Basically Watkins and Evans (Lee isnt a Megatron type). Also, got to remember we are getting Victor Butler back, so theres a OLB pass rusher. Butlers injury occurs more often then what happened to Greer, so to be honest we have Keenan Lewis and a bunch of uncertainty there. And with Jenkins contract up and Harper going to be restructured at the very least, we need a Safety too.

A lot of people are surprised about this.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Depending on who falls to us I would want a OT or Center first. Center from Arkansas could start right away. Guys a beast.

I would say both are gone. Moore is costing way too much next season and Meachem is slowing down. Morgan, Stills, Colston, Tanner and Toon would be my guess. Out of those 5 Toon may be gone. Tanner would take the place of Moore in the slot.

i think we have pass rushing OLB. problem is they have to stay on the field for 3 downs.

i look at Seattle's set up. mammoth quick run stuffer that can bull rush a pocket on the first two downs.

then they bring in the fast pass rushing thoroughbreds set on passing downs.

thats the blue print

none of that matters if your ILB are not fast enough or your secondary can not play man on man

so CB OLB and ILB needs up grading.

come out of the draft with two of the three with a chance of pushing the starters in 2 or three years would be great. year one would be a dream come true

then add some quality depth.

but first and for most this team lives and dies with Drew as we saw this year. the defense stepped up and the offense dropped the ball.

I do not blame drew as much as the front office and SP for gambling for too many years with players as starters that well has been a failure.

so get Drew the protection and a toy or two to use. the defense needs to get a some odd and end pieces to help out.

if an impact player falls in round one you gotta take the player. defense or offense does not make a difference. even if it is a reach.

my guess maybe

Calvin Pryor FS/SS Louisville
or
Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU

from there on out making or offense elite again to beat elite defenses is a must. Drew MUST NOT get as much next year as he did this year. Drew also need a top flight impact WR. it will help Grahm play longer. at this pace he will have a short career i fear.

this must be priority #1

judging first round talent has not been a suit of mine in all honesty. i am better on day 2 or day 3.

players i really like

Jarvis Landry WR LSU 5114 195 4.49
Charles Sims RB West Virgina 5116 213 4.44
Morgan Moses, ROT/OG Virginia 6056 325 5.28
Deone Bucannon SS/FS Washington ST 6011 215 4.57
Telvin Smith OLB/ILB/S Florida ST 6022 218 4.60
Ed Reynolds, FS/SS Stanford 6015 206 4.54/4.43

project players i really like
Weston Richburg OC/OG/OT Colorado State 6035 302 5.18/5.04
Keith McGill CB/S Utah 6021 205 4.38/4.49
Trevor Reilly, OLB/DE, Utah 6045 255 4.67
Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB/WR/S Nebraska 6022 220 4.46/4.56
Boseko Lokombo OLB/ILB Oregon 6024 230 4.62/4.52
Shamar Stephen DT/DE Conneticut 6045 313 5.14
Caleb Lavey, ILB, Oklahoma State 6021 235 4.64/4.54
Vyncent Jones OC/OG Utah 6031 305 5.23
Justin Ellis DT/OG La Tech 6015 355 5.25

how about this write up
Jeff Janis – WR – Saginaw Valley State –
6’3 – 215 – Jeff is the best wide receiver in this draft class. “White Lightning” is no joke, this kid ran a 4.3 forty at his junior pro day, STUPID FAST for a white boy.
