How do you feel about mark ingram now?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; When Ingram has looked good it's been because he was running through holes as big as an open barn door. If you have to feed the guy the ball 15 times before he warms up you'll be down two TDs ...

When Ingram has looked good it's been because he was running through holes as big as an open barn door. If you have to feed the guy the ball 15 times before he warms up you'll be down two TDs and have to abandon the run anyway.

This isn't 1977 when 20 points in a game was a lot and both teams were trying to ram the ball down the opponents throats and WRs were getting the crap beat out of them all the way down the field and the good QBs were completing maybe 50% of their passes.

If you can't make one guy miss or break one tackle you're not a good RB and I haven't seen where Ingram can do either on a regular basis.

Reggie Bush had 1 1000 yard rushing season, but I don't another small elusive back. I want a smash mouth pounder.

some like

Ray Rice
5-8 212 4.42

or

Doug Martin
5092 223 4.46 another 28 rep guy.

Charles Sims RB West Virgina
5116 213 4.54/4.44

big, strong enough to make plays between the tackles, yet quick enough and fast enough to take it to the edge. then add the fact he maybe the best RB as a receiver. good chance of being a Day 1 starter

ok can he do 23 reps of 225? that has yet to seen so we will wait for the beauty shows before making that comparison. but it is tempting.

so lets see

myself i like watching the games. the WV OL suxed so bad it was an eye opener as to how good this kid is. he has that uncanny level of escapability that is unbelievable. i am not talking about dancing east and west and around the dome like bush did. he heads north and south and can make 5 moves in 3 yards that leave defenders reaching for air. Then he has great hands.

He reminds me of Marshal Faulk i wounder if he trained the same way in the off season? does any one out there remember it? granted the story was early on in his career
