RUN THE BALL, PAYTON
 

The fiery bromance between Brees and Payton has now burned a hole in our team. Run game? Just look at the stats, Carolina run to pass 10 run, 9 pass. New Orleans run to pass 10 run, 24 pass....less than 50%. Renewed commitment to balance? B.S. political talk.

I think plenty of Brees's issues can be directly tied to trying to do everything himself. Teams don't even have to worry about a run threat, just pin their ears back EVERY SINGLE PLAY and sack our most precious resource. He'll be dead by the end of the year at this rate.

I'm a Saints fan first and foremost, long before Brees and Payton ever came to town...Frustrating when coaches are apparently oblivious and/or too hard headed to see the facts.

I feel like we have a Ferrari that isn't hitting on all cylinders, but it can still beat most cars. We aren't winning with big plays, we're winning in spite of not having a real run game.

All I can say is K. Robinson had a hot hand in the 2nd half when Ingram went to the locker room and did well. Ingram came back and did nothing, one day we may stick with the hot hand, whoever it may be at the time.

The TD drive was 7 runs and 4 passes.

Yes it really po's me when an RB runs for 8 yrds on1st down then Payton calls screen passes on 2nd and 3rd down. Its been bad this year. They keep forcing the pass even when its not working and abandon the run when it is working.

You don't call plays by using stats at the end of the game.

And when we say "run" and when we are getting 6 yards a pop, we don't mean run reverses and fake reverses on a soaked field *smh*.

I thought the whole offensive playcalling, before, during and after the monsoon, was fugly - for both teams. It looked like each quarterback's plays were getting called in from Arkham Asylum.

Among Payton's other blunders was the overuse on the screen pass (which wasn't working against Carolina's speedy linebackers) and of course the fake field goal in a long yardage situation. I'm glad that Ambush part 2 worked, but really Payton got too cute too often in this one.

You may be right but if we run and gain good yds. Payton might not have to much of a choice, it is the only knock I have ever had with Payton. I was suprized to see Robinson with 3 carries in a row. I think Robinson has carried the ball well with very limited touches this season and if I can see this Payton and Co. surely can. We have to have a good sound run game or we are sunk!!

You have to be committed to the run game at some point, especially in questionable weather, not just as a means to set up the passing game. today's game is a perfect example,,,,way too many passes thrown.

i thought when the saints were balanced the panthers were off balance. but you know the saints. die with the pass.
