this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm not calling for Payton or Brees to be kicked to curb but I am sick of Bees' stupid "WTF was he thinking" turn overs and Payton's equally bad play calling over the last six weeks. Go back and read ...

Go back and read my posts, you'll see that I've been a defender of both till today but it's time to face the fact both have been stinking it up lately.

I know Brees' troubles are directly related to the horrible line play but that's not an acceptable excuse. Nobody gets thumped more than Aaron Rodgers but he consistently manages to be one of the leaders in fewest ints. thrown each year. Just take the sack!

The team who played today was NOT a Championship team.

The Coach who coached today was not a Championship coach.

Sean Payton needs his wife back.

Re: 10-5

Seems hard because of the start we had to the year. The 2nd half of the season has been up there with the hardest in the competition. Carolina twice, Seattle, the 49ers, St Louis and a bunch of it on the road.

Lots of tough games there, but it is probably a reality check of about where we are this season.

Similar to the Patriot game in New England.

There is a difference between not being able to do something you couldn't do previously in the game and doing something well and then changing it and failing.

There were no pick 6s, so all points scored were on a defense. Should I mention 2 uncontested TDs, one passing and one rushing? Both scored with no hand on them by a defender.

You can say it a 3rd time if you like. Doesn't change points being scored on a defense.

D played a roll in the loss, but only putting up 13 points is the bigger factor. 58 min our D played great...

In my humble opinion no loss this year can be put on our D. We have the 4th ranked D in the league. If I would have told you that before the season you would tell me we would be undefeated.

4th ranked D...

and the

13th ranked O... Yup you heard that right. Squandered talent, and when you watch the press conference after the game Payton seems to be in denial.

I can understand your frustration. But I think the defense did its job today. In fact, with about 5 minutes left in the game defense yet again held Newton to a three and out. We got the ball back and offensively could not do much after we had scored the touchdown.

Yes, there was the rushing touchdown given up to DeAngelo Williams, and the gut wrenching passing touchdown with :23 seconds left in the game. However, they were able to turn back Carolina early in the game with a tip pick which took points off the board, as Newton had the Panthers in position to at least get 3 in the first quarter. Plus 4 sacks and numerous other pressures of Cam Newton throughout the game. Add in the Panthers were 0-9 on third down.

Although not perfect, I think the defense certain did its job today. Sadly, if our offense picks up ONE first down inside of two minutes...

I am not frustrated. Those were the 80s and 90.

Every play is different and every quarter is different. When you have the lead with 2m and some change on the clock then change your defense and lose..... It's on the change. This is not the first game we change the scheme and let someone blow down the field in the final 2m.

I'm glad the defense has gone from 32 to 5th. Doesn't change anything about the fact that we let them blow down the field in the final minute.

It is what it is..... Nothing changes

Re: 10-5

Can anyone name a current team that we can expect to beat on the road in the playoffs by scoring only one touchdown all day. Anyone.
