Toss up. The question isn\'t if SD is going to move the ball on our defense. They will. The question is whether or not the Saints defense will be disruptive enough to get 2 or 3 ciritcal stops in the game.

The offense seems to be clicking a bit better now. There was only 1 false start penalty on Gandy from the offensive line. No turnovers. They are getting more consistent.

Special teams have been the X factor in recent weeks. Lewis hasn\'t broken a long one. Could happen. Mitchell is making a serious special teams mark in blocks, tackles, and strips.

Our defense is poor. We all know that. LT will run roughshod. We know that too. But there\'s going to be one or two 3rd down and 5 or 6 to go where the defense will step up.

And the way that the offense is moving the ball and scoring, that may be all the daylight required.

The Saints gave up 1000 yards the last to games and with SD, KC, and Den coming up the Saint just might give up the most yards on defence in the Hostory. But I think the Saint could win this game as long as the Offense puts up some good numbers and good long drives to keep L.T off the field as much as possible.

Uh... I don\'t know about all that. No question that LT and Brees have career days. I think this game depends entirely on the offenses. If the Saints O that showed up against Minnesota shows up, we\'ll have a real chance. If not, we\'ll probably lose. Likewise, I doubt that the Saints D will even be capable of making critical stops. The issue is really, will the Chargers play stupid? If they give the ball away a few times (and I say they b/c our D is incapable of taking anything but an azz-whuppin), then we will have a chance.

I agree WhoDat, we\'ll need the Chargers to play stupid and give us a few chances to stay in the game. I\'ve watched chunks of Chargers games this year.

They remind me of our team. Great RB, QB who when he shows up and is in the zone can dominate a game, or could hand the game over gift-wrapped, a defense that isn\'t scary...

I think it comes down to who makes the least errors....unfortunately. Wouldn\'t be surprised if we won or lost.

What team have you people been watching? San Diego is rolling.

1. No run defense = Tomlinson runs wild, best game of year to date.
2. No LBs = Antonia Gates goes off.
3. No secondary = Brees, already on fire, goes nuts.
4. San Diego has excellent rush defense = Bad day for Duece and the offense which will be forced to pass.

This game is a blowout in the making. I think Vegas was kind coming out at San Diego -6. My suggestion is for you gamblers out there to get on it early before it goes up.

we have a chance at winning this one. the important thing is is for our offense to have a fast start and they\'ve been playing more consistent the past two games. if they do have a good start, the chargers will be forced to go to the air and play catch up w/c would lessen the rushes of LT.
with brown and mckenzie, i think we can limit the production of the wrs. the problem will be with our lbs. limiting their wrs is one thing, stopping their te is another, plus the fact that our D cant stop a screen pass to LT.

I agree with that if LT runs for more than 150. If he can be held to around 100 yards and the defense finds the will to make the key stops at critical points in the game, it\'ll be something like Saints 27 SD 21. But only if they slow down the run.

I am going to go out on a limb and say we upset SD. I think the bye week will help the Saints get healthy and focus more. I know this is very risky since L.T. is one of the better running backs in the league but if we can\'t stop him how in the world do we think we will even slow down Priest Holmes. In otherwords -- we win this week or we start evaluating the draft for next year.

It usually results in a player let-down.

Chili Willie, just a question. Why is it you decided to join a Saints forum and start blasting off about how the Chargers will own them this week? I have not seen one aspect of the game where you have said the Saints are better than the Chargers and there are many. I have 2 thoughts on your emergence: A) You are one of those bandwagon chargers fans who hasn\'t been seen since 1995 and now that they enjoy a little success you go to every forum of the opposing team they will play each week and talk crap, or B) You are really one of our bretheren trying to rally us by getting us to focus on a common enemy. If it is A, I really feel sorry for you cause that is pathetic. If it is B, I applaud your effort, but win or lose we are all still Saints fans. That\'s not gonna change or we would not be here every day offering ideas on how we could be better.

Either way, your downgrading of our team at every turn would be better served on a Chargers board. I believe the Saints have a small margin of error in beating the Chargers and they could pull it off, but I am HOPING they blow them out so we don\'t have to hear this rambling any more.

Lets face it -- there are some very valid reasons to be down on the Saints. The biggest reason is because with all of their talent (on both sides of the ball) you have to wonder why we play so badly all of the time. That said -- I actually think we will beat SD this week -- but only if we score first. We have been slow starters and need to be fast out of the gate and put the pressure on them to keep up. Otherwise we will get a heavy does of LT and play action passing

saintswhodi when you figure out what a real fan is down there you will realize why people bash on other sites, you\'ll learn i hope. The whole bandwagon thing that was cute and a nice try, been a fan since I was 5 and thats why im here. Look at other real fans and you can see everywhere that people go on other forums and bash its all in fun. Go to the oakland, denver, or KC sites and ours and you will see we all do it, some more violent than others but thats how it goes, ur team is good, ur offense looks good on paper and when it works it works, on defense mckenzie was a good pick up, but u need more on that side of the team which an offseason can take care of. But please man come up with something better than saying i\'m a bandwagon, im an SD native live and breathe the team. Bandwagon fans dont live here as u can see by our attendance....

I have no problem with fans getting in each others grills. Doesn\'t make me more or less of a fan if I don\'t. And I am a moderator on another forum which is for football fans of all teams so I see enough going on in our AFC West folder to know how it goes. I have no problem with that. But when someone on here mentions what we could do to win, you immediately go into no way your linebackers will stop Gates and no way McKenzie can hang with McCardell and so on. When I called you on it now McKenzie is a good pick-up.

Also in mentioning bashing, I see you mentioned Kansas City, Denver, and Oakland as the ones you do it most with. Guess what? They are division rivals of yours. If you were a Falcons Fan, I could see it. But since you are a Chargers fan who the Saints play once a decade, pardon me if I am a little puzzled as to why you are here to put down our team. Will we see you after this week? Do you secretly love our Saints and wanna become a fan? I don\'t know what the reason is and suspect I won\'t have to worry about it in about 3 days. The Chargers are an offseason removed from being the laughing stock of the league, let\'s not forget that. You still have a $40 million dollar back-up as qb who has as many questions as Ryan Leaf.
