If we do make the playoffs, would you rather

Would you rather be the 5th seed, which means going to Chicago, then to Carolina, then to Seattle,

or

Would you rather be the 6th seed and go to Philly, then to Seattle, then to Carolina?

I'll take the 5th seed

We can still win the division.

Do you honestly think that the Falcons can beat the Panthers? I can put no faith in their 2nd half performances

At least the game is in Atlanta. Maybe they play really hard for Mike Smith's final game there.

I think I would take the 5th seed also, but as long as we get in I would be o.k. with the 6th.

It doesn't matter to me where we go on the road. Against a playoff caliber defense we will score our ONE touchdown and then go home. But I think of all those teams, Philly has the worst home record if I'm not mistaken. So, as a team that struggles on the road, I'd want to go there.

Getting in the playoffs for starters.
Then it's fair game no matter where we go because none of the NFC teams are particularly dominant. Based on this past weekends performances, Chicago looks more appealing right now.
Falcons-Carolina I think could go either way since it is in Atlanta.

5th seed, Seattle will be hell no matter when we play 'em so may as well play there to go to the SB. Hopefully the choke/pressure would be more prevalent at the end.

Beat Tampa and go from there.

@mardigras9 you keep saying that no one in the nfc is dominant and i feel your sentiment however, the saints have been looking and performing like a 1-15 team then a team that should only have 1 or 2 losses under their belt but guess what they made the rams i repeat the rams look like we're playing them in seattle with a record breaking crowd and they successfully held us to 3 points for pretty much the entire game! The issues the saints are experiencing isnt something you want to take on the road in the playoffs you want to be playing like the arizona cardinals going into the playoffs! not like the tampa bay bucs! imjs

Seattle is dominant at home record wise, but they played, hands down, their best game of the year against us (Arizona just showed they are beatable with the mediocre Palmer offense). The Rams have matched up well against us for the last few years and had probably their best performance against us. Most of our road losses have involved some real bad luck. I just don't think this trend will continue and if the Saints can just get this whole "road" issue off their backs with one good showing on the road, I think they can make run at the right time. The Saints have their issues on both sides of the ball, and some are significant, but so does every other team in the NFC. I just like our chances in every scenario I can think of if the saints play smart football. IMO.

5th seed still gives us a realistic chance to host the NFCCG in New Orleans

Its not even a debate, 5th seed.

LOL... my guess is that Arthur Blank gives him one more year to get it together.

Did you see Blank on the sidelines fuming? Probably counting the season ticket holders that won't renew. Lol.

5th seed, without any question at all.

Really enjoying your optimism, MG. I agree with almost everything here except the part about Seattle having issues on both sides of the ball. They have some issues on offense. Their defense is scary.

I agree. Their problem this year wasn't coaching.

It was entering the season with huge holes on the O-line, secondary, and pass rush.

I hate to say this but they're about 3 solid additions from being a 10+ win team again. OT, OLB/DE, and DB.

If Blank is furious its with their GM, that Tommy Smirnoff dude.:p

no doubt #1- Smith is the same mediocre coach as in years past, but their genius GM is the one who is responsible for this year's personnel

no doubt #2- they will have an easier schedule next year and easily win 9 games

5th seed. Better chance of winning and getting on a roll.

I have my doubts as to weather or not we even make the playoffs. I'm not even sure we deserve to be. We won't get passed the first round anyway. If we win one playoff game I will be happy. My expectations have gone down a little since the Seattle game.

I'm down with the 2 seed, then having the 1 seed lose their 1st game and playing the NFCCG down in the Big Easy and then win the SuperBowl. That way all offseason we can hear how they can't win on the road, instead of can't win at home. WhoDat!!

We better hope the ATL "rises up" and helps us get that #2 seed.

Otherwise we are playing in Philly or in Green Bay (with Rogers back, they win the North) - neither sounds too appetizing in January...

I's rather stay home as the #2 seed.
