Zone blocking is not working. It killed the run game and has forced us to pass more... that hurt the rest of our offensive game.

For me, this proves the offensive line is sketchy at best in 2013. Offseason cuts, trades, draft and signings WILL happen. I would also like to see a new offensive line coach with seasoned experience or someone who can coach retained players up.

I've never seen Drew on his backside like I have this year. If it continues, he will get injured maybe this year but definitely next year if the o-line woes aren't correctly addressed.

You missed one important point...

We changed to a blocking scheme that we are not built for this season.

New scheme... wrong personnel. Sound familiar?

They need to go back to the old blocking scheme. Draft an athletic Rt tackle in the draft and try zone blocking next season. If we have two athletic tackle it might work. We only have one athletic tackle and they were able to run better last Sunday. Fix the offensive line and it will fix everything else on the offense.

I don't think RT is the problem. This year Strief grades out our best O-lineman on the team.

He'll likely grade out in the top 5 RT's in the entire NFL.

Oh, and he's a free-agent.

It's a problem if you want to run a zone blocking scheme. He is not very athletic. Man's got bad knees.

True in theory, but he performed better than any of our other O-linemen in this same zone scheme.

I think the main problem is we have 5 O-linemen not well suited for zone blocking.

You might have a point. In that case, like I've already said, they need to go back to the old scheme. It seemed to work pretty well for them last season. It was the defense that couldn't stop anyone. By the way, do you think they might let Strief walk next season?

I'm holding out hope for a complete turnaround starting Sunday and running through February

RT's that grade that high are usually given 4 million plus. I don't think we can afford that.

We need to afford that, the last thing we need is another Brown situation next year.

Lots of cuts are to be had this off-season; mostly coming from the worthless players on D that are being paid massive contracts for doing nothing or sitting on IR... goodbye
