Fanspeak's On the Clock Mock Draft Simulator - New Orleans Saints

Round 1 (27) Jerimiah Attaochu, OLB, Ga Tech; Height: 6’ 3”; Weight: 252 lbs.
Most underrated of the top talent in the draft; can play OLB, ILB, or DE...
Speed to Burn...Just a tremendous athlete who's only just learning the game...dominated against Georgia...

Round 2 (58) Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss; Height: 6’ 2”; Weight 221 lbs.

Why this guy is not rated higher is puzzling; skilled route runner with "suddenness" when making cuts in his routes giving him advantage over any defender; great hands and continues to disprove doubters about his speed...

Round 3 (91) Jordan Tripp, ILB, Montana; Height: 6’ 3”; Weight 235 lbs.

Surprised to find him here, but snatched him up; another LB who can play ILB or OLB; very capable pass defender which makes him a 3-down linebacker like the first round pick, Attaochu, and therefore a plus, plus player...

Round 4 (122) Russell Bodine, OL, UNC; Height: 6’ 3”; Weight: 310 lbs.

Capable of playing both Guard and Center; One of the strongest players at the combine with great durability; could immediately start at Center and offer flexibility at Guard; big plus - plays with a nasty, mean streak...

Round 5 (155) Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty; Height: 6’ 0”; Weight: 198 lbs.

Got into trouble early and has gotten back on track; many scouting reports compare him to Keenan Lewis, already with the Saints; very genuine interview to accent very genuine coverage skills, speed and size...

Round 5 (157) Wesley Johnson, OL, Vanderbilt; Height: 6’ 5”; Weight: 297 lbs.

Has played all positions on the offensive line with skill set best suited for right tackle or even Centre; Often over-looked statistic is he gave up few to no sacks against some of the top pass rushing talent in the SEC that is now or soon to be in the NFL...

Round 6 (186) James Stone, C, Tennessee; Height: 6’ 4”; Weight: 306 lbs.

Tennessee may have four offensive linemen drafted in this draft, which could work against them as far as rankings; make no mistake, this guy is the goods and should benefit from some NFL coaching to correct technique that is limiting him from being a higher round selection; ideal, pro-ready size and speed...

Love what video I've seen of Tripp but don't know if he can play MLB, especially in our 3-4. Have you read anything about him being able to play the middle?

Three offensive linemen, that seems like a lot. Stone was a great value pick in the 6th tho.

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

Gave it a shot.... This was my first attempt. Can only wish Dennard fell to us at 27. Hard to see all these guys landing to us, but we can always dream. I drafted BPA and considered needs as well. Ended up getting us great depth at CB & WR and allows us to put our best players on the field as they would battle it out in camp. Only thing i didnt like from this mock is I was unable to land a solid LB, due to value and availability.

Round 1 - 27. CB DARQUEZE DENNARD, MICHIGAN STATE

Round 2 - 58. WR ALLEN ROBINSON, PENN STATE

Round 3 - 91. CB PIERRE DESIR, LINDENWOOD

Round 4 - 126. C MARCUS MARTIN, USC

Round 5 - 167. WR RYAN GRANT, TULANE

Round 5 - 169. WR L’DAMIAN WASHINGTON, MISSOURI

Round 6 - 202. CB DONTAE JOHNSON, NORTH CAROLINA STATE

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

3 CBs
Cant see that happening with Lewis, Bailey, White, Sweeting; Brooks on the roster already

Actually, Tripp play MLB, especially on many Nickel Packages, and is known as a good run stuffer....

We have no depth on the offensive line - none; the guards will need to be replaced in 2-3 years (Grubbs maybe sooner if he doesn't play to his contract)...

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

Round 4 (122) Russell Bodine, OL, UNC; Height: 6’ 3”; Weight: 310 lbs.

could immediately start at Center?????????????????????

I do not see it. excellent developmental player with coaching can become a starter and might be ready to step in at OG in a couple of years when the big buck OG are up for new contracts

Round 6 (186) James Stone, C, Tennessee; Height: 6’ 4”; Weight: 306 lbs

another solid prospect to develop.

Weston Richburg is still my guy in round 2 and he gets a BPA rating at that pick

two years down the road you could be looking at
Weston Richburg and Russell Bodine both as starters for the saints.
who knows Litto might be the other answer at the other OG position. at the least you hope he becomes your #1 back up that does not make fans shutter when he takes the field. so far so good with the kid.

Two OG that can play OC if needed? not a bad set up

kill two birds with one stone. plug the hole now and plug the one coming up in the next few years.

Re: Mock Draft Simulator

I would be very happy with this draft, although i'd want Allen Robinson all areas seem to be filled very nicely. I think jeanpierre & hagan would be A ok with this draft as well, We can only hope things go this well on draft day.

Enjoy...

27 OLB, JEREMIAH ATTAOCHU - GEORGIA TECH

58 CB, STANLEY JEAN-BAPTISTE - NEBRASKA

91 WR, DONTE MONCRIEF - OLE MISS

126 WR, BRANDON COLEMAN - RUTGERS

167 C, BRYAN STORK - FLORIDA STATE

169 RB, DE'ANTHONY THOMAS - OREGON

202 CB, AARON COLVIN - OKLAHOMA

I felt the talent & upside of Aaron Colvin was too good to pass up with our final pick in the 6th round once he gets 100%. Would have time to ease his way back with the drafting of SJB & signing of champ to coach him up
