Both NFC matchups on Wild Card Weekend feature teams with the superior record going on the road.

NFL owners have taken notice of the inequity.
Harrison: Wild-card Game Picks
Who will prevail on the road in the wild-card round -- and who will stand strong at home? Elliot Harrison makes his picks. READ

Among the "multiple ways" in which the NFL has examined potential adjustments to the playoff system, spokesman Brian McCarthy said Thursday there has been discussion of letting the team with the superior record host games even if they gain entrance to the postseason as a wild card.

"Every scenario has been discussed, ranging from reseeding to one extra game, expanding from 12 to 14 teams," McCarthy said. "Think of a scenario, it's been discussed and remains in play."

As I have always said, I have no problem with a Division winning team getting a guaranteed spot, that's obvious, but just like the NFL tie breakers, the next most important thing is hosting a home game!

Why would nt you resort to best records next?

It's the obvious evolution of the process to me...

I agree. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Couldn't agree more. That way teams that skim through a bad division don't have an edge..unless they deserve to.

Should reduce the number or meaningless games at the end of the season. Instead of being locked into the 4th or 5th seed because a team has won a weak division in the 16th week and resting their starters, every game will count since they are still competing with the rest of the conference for overall record and home field advantage.

Horrible idea. That would water down many divisional games. Just my opinion.

I only like the seeding by record. I don't want to see more teams added.

I am not that keen on the change because, really.

If they must, then consider home advantage by record in common games.

This makes way to much good sense for this to work in the NFL.:bng:
