Sully and Riley fight???

Reports on WWL said Sullivan and Victor Riley got into a heated scuffle. Apparently Kenny Wilkinson spotted something quite rarely seen at a Saints practice... A fired up energized Jonathan Sullivan!

He said Sully was having his way with Riley and Riley was probably none too happy about this slacker abusing him.

Could this spark be a sign the competitive fires are now burning in this kid? Remember this is essentially his Rookie year. Everyone insists his problem was attitude related.

One may also think its just hype but this practically blew Wilkinson away. He was one of the few insiders who claimed early on we should just cut this slacker outright and move on. Of course for the next 15 minutes Kenny and Hoakie claimed non-stop that he's gonna have to show it for more than just one practice. Well no duhhh!

Anyway, there seems to be a slight ray of hope for this youngster yet.

But then again, maybe it means Riley is much much worse than any of us imagined.

I remember reading that Folau and Riley were pretty close in terms of skill. I wonder if it would be a good idea to bring Folau back as the starter. Yeah, you lose some continuity, but it\'s not like this bunch has been performing well anyway.

If there is any player who can do a decent job instead of Riley, bring him in...please.

Riley is full of talent (among other things), and continuity to an O-line is key, but GODDAM I am tired of those false starts. He HAS to lose some weight, so he gets a bit quicker and doesn\'t have to cheat a second or 2 early on his block.

Lord have mercy!!

I\'ve never posted a link before - hope I did it correctly. Above is the article about the fight. What kinda freaks me out about this whole article is this line:

Sullivan hinted that team politics might be a factor. He said teammates have told him that coaches don\'t often play the most talented players, but players \"who they like.\"

Though Sullivan is an extremely suspect source, this bothers me a lot and suggests that there are players on our team that honestly feel this way. If the players feel this way about the coaching staff, no matter if it is true or false, this team will never come together as long as this coaching staff remains the same.

Gotta have a coaching change here, no matter what. Just my opinion.

Funny thing. Riley is supposed to be one of the strongest members of the o-line, in terms of strength. If he was manhandled by Sully, hmmmm.

EDIT: The only problem that I have with the statement you pointed out, FF, is that other players are in his ear, causing dissension by making statements like that. In today’s NFL, when you’re given such a small window to win, it’s absurd to think that coaches would start players based on popularity, and not on who’s the best player at the time. I don’t care who the coach is. I know only what I\'ve seen with my own two eyes, and he has sucked it up so far this year.
