Mid - Season Surge?

um...look at the last 3 years...we have seen the best this team is going to do this year...all we can hope for now is to lose as many games as possible...that way..our new coach will have stronger draft picks..and an easier schedule..this year...stick a fork in it..we're done man

by the way...atlanta is not overrated...thats what happens to a talented team when a talented group of coaches get around it...they'll be the only team in this division that makes the play-offs...that is if vick stays healthy...he has yet to play a full year...

Good points - I agree. I HATE to see this team lose. In game, I can never bring myself to root against them. That said, my head tells me that this season is lost. 3-13 will be far better in the long-run than 7-9. 3-13 guarantees a new coach and a high draft pick. 7-9 doesn\'t.

Seems like I heard that some Saints player boasted that if we won the Oakland game we were gonna take the division. Has anyone else heard that, or did I dream it? And if true, who said it?

Players and coaches allegedly said in interviews the week before the Oakland game that if they won against the Raiders, they felt that they could be 10-6 and win the division.

Haven\'t heard much about that since the Oakland game. But since there was a bye week seems like everyone has forgotten. It\'s another excuse Haz can use if we lose this week...\"the bye week had an effect on us...\"

Haz\'s news conference quotes:
\"We had a heckofa week off, and a heckofa lot of time on our hands and so we developed a heckofa game plan to play the Chargers. They\'re a heckofa team with a heckofa lot of great players so we\'re gonna have a heckofa time stepping of and playing. Playoffs? Did someone mention playoffs, we gonna have a heckofa time just going with each game. 10-6? I never said 10-6!! I just said it was a heckofa win over Oakland.\"

Some foolishness like that. 3-13 is possible, 7-9 is probable. It all depends on who shows up at gametime each week.

Haz better be thinking playoffs, unless that Oakland job looks good to him...
