That and that Ahmad Brooks hit...

Strief is a lot better pass blocker than a run blocker.

Different animals, different techniques and skill sets required, Brown is the opposite..... Better run blocker than pass blocker.

Please, Brown is not a good run blocker.

Learn to read more and interpret less.

I said Brown was better at run blocking than pass blocking. Nothing more, nothing less.

Stats, grades, all prove that.

The Screen Passes he's looked lost and slow against the better defenses...

Because he was. Same principle as zone run blocking which he didn't fair well with. Brown, Strief..... Built for down hill blocking... Not fleet footed angle based zone or screen blocking.

In standard pass blocking the first step is back/lateral and it's a recoiling or loading of the body, for run or screen it's forward or angular exploding through.

For run blocking you want to hit him hard, exploding up and through the defender pushing back to the second level. In passing your more of a speed bump slowing him down long enough to get the pass off, eventually he will get there.

I bet Coach Payton sat down with the front office and said quality over quantity, because that is what we got. Beautiful UDFA class and besides Rufus, all of the drafted rookies are playing at the NFL level.

Re: Terron Armstead

Our run game was instantly better when he took over and Watson and Hill were in as tight ends.

Re: Terron Armstead

The only reason we should think about drafting a RT is that Strief is getting older and it would wise to start grooming his replacement.

Streif was the of that unit this year. Injuries and poor LT play (in some games.) made the line look a lot worse than it really is.

Sorry, I'm not very satisfied with the status quo. We are 1-2 pieces away from having a shut down defense when everyone is healthy. All of our offensive woes can in some part be traced to the offensive line and in no way will I believe it's ALL on Brown.

We have reached a point where getting the job done doesn't get the job done. We need to upgrade some pieces and Strief is one.

Re: Terron Armstead

The Saints might not get a choice in the matter. Streif is a free agent and after he may get offers higher than the Saints can afford.
