Still, in all, two No. 1s, who will have slotted salary assignments from a rookie pool, for a third round pick - it should be strongly considered...

6 years, $48 million sounds reasonable.

if not how about a sign and trade with the browns?

they get graham and we the #4 pick in the draft?

now you can wheel and deal and add players.

heck even get the 26th pick and their 2nd.

then pick up the phone and call FA agents and get a deal done.

Projected Price Tag:

Hakeem Nicks 5 years, $33 million
Jairus Byrd 5 years, $34 million
Donald Butler 5 years, $36 million
Alterraun Verner 6 years, $36 million
Brian Orakpo 5 years, $36.4 million
Jeff Cumberland 4 years, $15.6 million

i admit that is not the nicest thing to do to jimmy but the brownies do have talent

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract

Browns will not bite.
They have two first rounders as they have the Colts from the Richardson trade but they a QB with the 4th pick and will be looking at another weapon with the Colts pick. They also have Jordan Cameron at TE

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract

You could maybe get the Rams intersted as they hold picks 2nd/13/44 but they have Jared Cook who has big money left on his deal $12-8ml in dead money the next two years.
They will find a way to keep Jimmy but with his deal and Cameron Jordan expiring deal we are trying too float through that famous creak and are rapidly running out of paddles

Given the ecstatic willingness Saints fans are to let JG go for two FRDP's, is say he isn't worth two FRDP's and therefor no one is going to risk giving them up for him.

If there was more hesitation I would think they would be closer in value.

Think about it for a second. You wake up one morning and Loomis gave up $10m/year and two FRDPs for Gronkowski. How does your stomach feel?

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract

I guess for the buying team it all depends on the cap space available. For a team like the Rams (if they didnt have Cook on the roster) loosing two picks would maybe be worth the cap hit. Again one of the contending teams may think uts worth tsking away the Saints top weapon and loosing two very late first rounders.

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract

Browns will not bite as they have a very good Tight End in Jordan Cameron (yes, we have DE Cameron Jordan)...

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract

Atlanta needs a TE, Miami could use him, maybe the Rams, there are a few landing spots for Graham. I really don't see a team giving up two #1 for him because he isn't really an all around TE but maybe a 1st and a 3rd. I just can't see overpaying him to the point it cripples us and feel that he just isn't worth top TE money and to be honest WR money is out of the question. If nothing else let him walk and beef up the O-line and grab a reciever.
