Wr/Andy Tanner could he replace moore.Wr/Kr Charles Hawkins could he do what sproles did for kick return game.Fb/Austin Davis a cheaper replacement for Collins.Te/ Mike Higgins has flashed some ability.ROT/ Marcel Jones him or Harris a cheaper replacement to Stief.OG/ Senio Kelemete a 2012 151st pick to replace Grubbs or Evans.OLB/DE Vic so' oto a hard nose player.FS/CB Eddie Whitley do not know much on him.Could be today they are resigned to join Kicker Derek Dimke --CB/WR Derrius Brooks played an started all 2013 with Calgary stampeders.--Ot Ty Nsekhe looked good in Rams camp played sveral years of arena football at 6-8/325 a big man to get past to Drew.:brood::brood:

I think they're all just players under contract after the season is over. Practice Squad status is set the week before the season starts.

Most people are on the practice squad for a good reason.

Most NFL teams resign each teams entire practice squad.sometimes another team will out bid another team.However no rule prevents a team from paying each practice squad player a full one year normal 53 man roster one year salary.Because of this most years one of only a few teams to do so.therefor most resign with Saints.

Practice squads are the last thing signed before the season and not all practice squad players are worthy of the active roster.

So no.... We have not resigned a practice squad in 3 years and we will not start now. Tanner is the only name that reappears. I would also say none of them are moving up unless Tanner does something amazing.

Joique Bell is the only PS player that has work a game jersey as far as I know...

All practice squad players are free agents. You can sign your own or anyone else's

As for Tanner, he has had three seasons to get on the field. Time to go get a job as a high school PE coach

As for any practice squad player replacing Grubbs or Evans... anyone want to buy my season tickets?

Go to a nfl tranaction site look you will find most nfl teams resigned the teams practice squad players to what is called nfl reserve futures contracts for next seasons training camp :brood:

No need to, you can scroll through all teams depth charts for present and past years and see who returns.

As far as for the Futures contracts, 95% of those are for the 90 man camp roster. The other 5% are for players that a team sees promise in and wants as a project. No one is resigned to a practice squad for the following year.

Picking up players for training camp has nothing to do with the following seasons practice squad. Practice squad players are poachable and not under contract.

Lastly, who in their right mind would sign a contract in Jan to be on a practice squad the following year/ Sort of railroads their possibilities doesnt it?

We have already signed 3 players to futures contracts and none of them were on our PS.

Could be with Saints to be 17,000,000 over cap next year Saints will have to bargin basement shop to fill out back end of roster.Also you can now have 90 players for camp up from 80 so a lot of spots to fill.I think half have a real shot at 53 roster.I know you can only set the practice squad each year after final cut down to 53.what most teams do is after last regular season game is resign all or most to nfl futures contracts.

Saints are only 9M over a cap that has not been set yet and we have 1.5ishM carry over so we are less than 7.5M over next years cap if it doesn't go up. Cutting Will Smith drops it another million.

The 80-90 expansion was last April, this is its second year coming up, and whether you sign a player in free agency or off the practice squad the basement is the same. League minimum is league minimum regardless of where they come from. I would rather sign UDFAs that our practice squad.

But Ok... You keep watching it then.

Yes i know its at 90 last year an everyone knows the practice squad is done after the final cut an the players clear waviers.what some do not get is 90% of teams sign a average of 80 % of the practice squad players who are on pt squad to contracts for next years training camp check each teams tranactions report the week after end of regular season.Hope you right about cap of only 9m but i have seen its over 17m now cuting will smith saves around 11m.We will as most years end up wih about 18 ufda rookies on 90 man camp roster.Saints will have to bargin shop to fill some spots.At end of 2013 season we were 665,000 under cap. :dunce:

PS is for players like Lance Moore. When players have potential you try to develop them on the PS. But every year we bring in new UDFA's to compete with them. It's a starting place.

I think they will still resign TE Mike Higgins Not sure if some other team after OLB/DE vic so'oto.the Fs eddeie ? was he only signed to gain a little insight to eagles as he spent time with eagles.
