Ryan Shazier

I think he could have a Vaccaro like impact on our D as Rook.

The kid tackles extremely well in space and has good range.

Re: Ryan Shazier

Definitely. Love the athleticism of the guy and how he attacks with closing speed once he diagnoses and decides where to go. On a 3-4 D, speed will be our difference coupled with sound tackling fundamentals.

And that's his sophomore highlights!

He is a stud and tackles very well.

Looks like he has great instincts and tackles extremely well in the open.

What is he predicted to go in?

Re: Ryan Shazier

If he falls to 27 and the saints don't pick him I will probably demolish my TV.

He's really an early 2nd rounder I think. Could slip into the bottom of the first round but needs to get better in pass coverage. Also, he tends to get pushed around a bit too much for my liking.

When I look at defensive prospects in the front 7, this is a main stat I eye and gravitate towards. Combine measurements are all fine and dandy, but TFL speaks wonders for a players instinct... and that's a huge number. Who doesn't covet a player that has a penchant for being in an opponent's backfield? I wouldn't dislike this pick one bit.

He's not a pure pass rusher either I rather go with vic beasly or the guy from mizzou

I watched him as a freshman play against Michigan on one leg..And Ball out too.

Re: Ryan Shazier

He's bad assed, that's for sure. I'm a little concerned about his size though. I could see him spending time in rehab just like Kenny, the way he throws himself around.

Re: Ryan Shazier

Any guy who plays hurt and plays well must have heart ... we definitely need .more of that on the team. You guys think he could be coached up to eliminate some of his weak spots.

Hope he falls down to the 3rd or 4th round.

Re: Ryan Shazier

We need a player in the second level who's got that kind of range. Would surely help keep guys like Cam, Russell and Colin from burning us on 3rd down....

Beasleys better in pass rush but Shazier is better at almost everything else.
The only problem with Shazier is hed have to play WILB in a 34. Hes too small to really play anywhere else.
Too me he is a WLB in a 43 and thats probably where he'll end up playing.

Re: Ryan Shazier

He'll,be able to cover on 3Rd downs.I like the speed he plays with...Of all the linebackers I think he has the most potential outside of Barr.
