At this point I think Drew is his own QB coach. I am not particularly worried about an adverse affect on him. Now it may make a difference when it comes to developing a backup or young QB, but SP has shown an ability to find very good assistants. Look at Wesley McGriff hire for instance.

Maybe new blood is what Drew needs to light a fire under his ass. Drew has become too comfortable earning all those zillions of dollars and losing his accuracy in the process. Maybe he needs a new objective coach to tell him what he's doing wrong and get it straightened out.

Accuracy is very subjective to a lot of elements. Do we base it off of completion%? That has a lot to do with defenders, receivers dropping, routs being too lose, etc. I would think he "may" have lost some arm strength but not accuracy.

This cat has not lost his accuracy and even if he lost 15%, he is still more accurate than most.

Not surprising, since the Lions have been trying to run the Saints offense for a while.

In Hulka's defense; Drew has been "off" the past few games. Short, too high, too far out front, throwing behind the receivers.

Now, I'm not saying that it's time to get rid of Drew. Far from it. But he hasn't played his best football this year. 5,000 yards is great an all; but what good does it do in a losing effort?

Maybe I'll rephrase that. His timing has been off. ALL seson his passes have been behind his recievers.

I think the Saints think very highly of him.
Especially in light of the development of Griffin...

And from what I understand he was a big part of game day planning/scheme...

Surprised Carmichael hasn't departed yet...

Would have liked to have kept Lombardi...

If you're a HC long enough, teams will go after some of your talent Look at what has happened to NE over the years. The true test will play out in terms of who SP brings in. So far he did OK with Rob Ryan.

Drew Brees is not a "throw to open" QB. He is a timed route QB and if our receivers allow themselves to get checked at the line, let defenders bet between them selves and the ball, or do not run tight routes the ball will be on X and they will be somewhere else.

As far as effort goes, think about what you just said and what he can actually effect. Do not get me wrong but the man can not make the line block for the run game, cant make Hartley make FGs...

All a QB can do is throw for as many yards and TDs as possible. If the play calling is off, running game is off, we cant punch it in from the 3 yard line, receivers play tip drills with his passes, O-line has blocking issues, kicker misses FGs, last minute deep passes are caught by the opposing offenses for TDs, fumbles, etc.... Honestly, what can any QB actually do besides throw his arse off?

Different take... If any one of our running backs had a 1300 yard 12 TD season and we still lost, would you say the yards and TDs are fine but he is not winning games? Look at Adrian Peterson.
