Oh yeah, reevaluate our O-line coach. :brood:

The Saints already have 2 tackles on the roster.

Why do the Saints need to replace Grubbs? He was blocking 3 people at one time for most of the season. He actually played much better when Brown was replaced. Then he only had to block 2 people at one time. Also, why not keep Armstead at LT tackle. They can replace Strief with one of the tackles already on the roster and draft a center. And then there is Lelito.

Grubbs isn't going anywhere.
Nobody will want his contract and his dead money means he will not be cut for at least this year.

good eyes one that one. by the end of the season you could see SP and Grubs had confidence enough in Armstead to let Grubbs worry about just doing his job.

Now i have disagree here

who is on the roster that gives you the warm fuzzies when Streif goes down? I have not seen a single back up on the OL i want as a starter by any stretch of the imagination. Strief needs to be retained. we need to draft a RT early in the draft. Streif can finish out his carreer as the #1 back up on the OL once the young guy is ready start.

Streifs ability to start RT or LT is a rare ability in the NFL. Plus that move would allow streif a few additional years on the team. he has been a team player since he arrived. he deserves to go out in style not with an ax.

Streif has never held the team hostage on contract talks and always had a fair market value in his contract. maybe even a bit on the low side.

I think he wants to stay will do all he can to be a saint in 2014.

If there was a tackle on the roster better than Streif he would have been playing. Im not against re-signing him but it depends on price.
Its a big decision to make as you dont want to throw a long contract at Streif as his body may well be breaking down in terms of his aboliyy to play everyweek but that is the only way to sign him on a cheap deal unless he is happy to stay on a discount. I would be happy to get him on a one/two year deal and draft a replacement this year and give him time to settle before needing him yo start every week.

The only concern I have with Strief is will his knees hold up.

Me too, and its probably why he wants a big final contract. We won't be getting a home team discount.

So we cite too many offensive line personnel changes as to why the unit doesn't preform cohesively.

Then want to blow it up in the off-season.

Head scratcher.

The only player on that line that has not been mentioned being changes is Evans.

my gut says he will be level headed with contract demands. but if a bucket of cash is thrown at him who could blame hi.

as for the knees thats age in the sport catching up with you. but 8 games with him at starter is better than 16 games with any of the OT we have now.
