Morten Anderson not included in Hall of Fame

Yet another year passes by when the NFL all-time leading scorer misses the Hall of Fame, is this some kind of joke?

Instead these players made it:

Michael Strahan
Derrick Brooks
Andre Reed
Walter Jones
Derrick Brooks
Aeneas Williams
Claude Humphrey
Ray Guy

Come on guys, Kickers are people too! What else must a kicker do to make it into the Hall, kick a FG from 80 yards back? I'm disappointed but I'm not pulling my hair out. Lets just hope he makes here in the next year or two.

Hope your right exile he truly was an amazing kicker and he deserves

Perhapse we are looking in the wrong region for our place kicker?

Jan Stenerud - Only pure place kicker in the NFL HoF.
Morten Anderson - Arguably the second pure place kicker that should be in the NFL HoF.

Jan Stenerud birth town Fetsund Norway.
Morten Anderson birth town Copenhagen Denmark.

These two were born 380 miles from each other but 3700 miles from the closest American Football.

No Football has been played in both those countries for quite some time. On a completely different level than the NFL thou.

I'm sure he'll get in. Should be on this list though. Ray Guy should have already been in there.

Hell, Guy last played in 86 and just now finally made it. Right or wrong, as a kicker or punter, it takes time. You realistically just have to expect it, period. He'll get in, not as quick as we'd like, but I'm sure he'll get in, and probably not soon enough. The HOF is weird, those you'd think would, aren't in or takes a long time, and then there's always some that do make it,,,, that you'd think shouldn't.

HOF is all about the rings early on. after that it is extremely hard to get in the longer you are over looked. at times i wonder if the voters really understand the game at all

bobdog, Morten Andersen is the All-Time Scorer for the NFL...

...the NFL's All-Time Leading Scorer...

And he wasn't just any kicker, he was hitting scores from 50+ yards regularly...

Paired with that incredible defense, he brought the Saints out of purgatory to respectability...

If we'd had a Sean Payton caliber coach then, I have no doubt we'd seen 65+ yard scores as well...

Ask NFL alum "of all eras, if you can pick one kicker to kick a fifty yard field goal attempt to win a game for your team, who would it be?"

Morten Andersen is a Hall of Famer, even if he screwed the fan base by going to Atlanta when trying to stick it to Benson & Co. for stupidly letting him geaux...
