Its not that simple. CB's have a lot to grasp.

I like the idea of a vet coming and being our #1 or 2 CB and a rookie coming in in nickel situations and rotating in giving them time to develop.

So CBs have more to grasp than Safety's? (Vaccaro)

Re: What now at corner?

Porter came in 08 and looked great as a rookie. All three teams in our division had rookies started at CB this year that did a good job. I wouldn't assume that just because a guy is a rookie that he can't get the job done.

I personally think White can stay at #2 and be great, but that's just me. But I'm also not opposed to moving him back to nickel. He's proven to be a good player at both positions. But whatever position we stick White at, imo we'll need to address the other one in either FA or the draft. I'm willing to give PRob a chance, but I'm honestly not expecting much. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

I would love it if we drafted Jason Verrett out of TCU. That guy has cover skills you can't teach. He'd make an immediate impact imo.

+1. You aren't alone on JVerrett. He is a bit undersized for me but very crafty and has good closing speed. What is more impressive to me is that he is a sound, fundamental tackler.

porter, greer, did p. rob ever prove himself yet. the injuries or the money (got paid) and the hunger goes away. injury has the most impact on declining play I believe.

I think people's perceptions are also skewed by him being a fifth-round draft pick from a small school, so they assume he can't be any good. Same for Strief, who by all accounts is one of the top right tackles in football, but to hear some people talk he is straight trash. If any team's fans should know better it's Saints fans, considering how much the team is built around low picks and undrafted guys.
People remember what they want to remember and sometimes fabricate those memories...

Like saying any of our RBs have a fumbling problem.

Re: What now at corner?

There are some interesting prospects in the draft. The question is who is better man on man in coverage? We need someone who is capable of big plays.
