Zach Strief

Looks like the Saints would like to keep the big guy. "Mutual interest" from him and the team.

5 year 35 million. Backload the last 2 years and guarantee him 16 million. Use him for 3 years and then let him walk.

Dependable RT.
I like Papz idea, draft a RT late or if Harris is progressing then let him back up and see if he is ready to replace him in 2-3 years.

Re: Zach Strief

Strief is my wildcard on the O-line. I feel alot of the way we go in the draft depends on which way he goes.

Re: Zach Strief

Id rather keep Strief and put the money into a top centre than keep DLP and get a new RT.Some familiarity is always a bonus on the Line.

Streif can play G in a pinch. Keep him. He could be the Will Smith of our O Line.

Re: Zach Strief

^Not only that but he can play left tackle too, and does a pretty good job at it.

I like him personally, but I'd rather we move on...now.

With who?

If we can afford to resign him we should.

Because the alternative will probably be even more expensive... or very green.

And draft his eventual replacement.

Re: Zach Strief

this could be his big pay day on the fA market. Zack Martin would be my pick to replace him. Martin gives you the flexibility 3 years down the road to slide inside when or oG are over 30 and FA

Sign him.

Re: Zach Strief

Never liked him. 3 years $9 million is the max I'd go.

Re: Zach Strief

I rather Charles Brown play RT.

Re: Zach Strief

Solid vet who can play both sides. If he stays with the Saints, it will be with a hometown discount.

I do agree with you on this, if we could get a Center this year I would be alright with Strief. I wish we could sign him to a short term contract but I believe he will want top dollar and a long term contract. He is my wildcard.
