In case you aren’t Catholic or a binge drinker, today happens to be Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras in French. And that means the city of New Orleans is going to party like it’s the end of the world tonight.

Of course, for most that means wearing a fancy outfit and going to a ball, or hanging out along parade routes drinking beer and catching beads. However, for one group of Mardi Gras parade organizers, that means everyone dressing up like Rob Ryan, the defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints.

What has Rob done to deserve this loving tribute? Nothing at all, other than not being completely awful. It’s not like the Saints won the Super Bowl this year thanks to their historically good pass defense. That was Seattle. Nevertheless, Ryan is apparently really popular in the bayou. Tonight he’ll serve as the Grand Marshal for the Krewe of Argus parade, and last night said Krewe paid tribute to their leader by stuffing their shirts with pillows and donning glorious grey wigs.

What do you call a group of Rob Ryans, anyway? A herd? A pack? Maybe a pod?

In any case, you may want to avoid the Argus parade. It’s probably going to get pretty weird.

I wasn't sold on him as a Def Coordinator...

...but the guy is the real deal as a regular jeaux and fits perfectly into the South Louisiana Culture...
