about where are we under the cap?

With the recent moves where are we?

I believe we are about 2M over, first year of Jairus' contract only causes something like 4 or 5M cap hit, one person restructuring or sproles being traded should push us back below the cap

we were at 1.9 under, then PT restructuring his 3 million probably knocked off at least 1 million, so we're at 3 million under.

Trading or cutting Sproles drops us to about 6.5 million under.

Byrd probably is right at 5 million so we're basically about 1.5 million under.

Obviously more restructures coming, especially Bunkley.

Jairus Byrd's 6-year, $54M deal has $26.3M in guarantees. His 2014 cap number is $3.5M. He gets $27.9M in the first three years.

Real numbers on Jairus Byrd's deal with #Saints: full deal is 6 years, $54M. He gets $12.3M in first year, including $11M signing bonus.

There's a gift and a curse to this deal.... Listening to Bill Polian on the radio today he basically said, Loomis is a cap genius and he ( Loomis) wouldn't have made this Bryd deal if he were not really close to signing Graham and bringing his (Graham) cap number down with a long term deal.. But he said, there could a team out there willing to offer graham more money than the Saints could offer Jimmy.... that would be the only way the gamble doesn't work...

Then we take 2 firsts from them = win/win in my book

Took the words out of my mouth: win-win situation. Our defense is set to be elite for years to come and I'm pretty sure we could replace Graham with one of our potential four 1st round picks in these next two drafts.

trade Darren and we are close to even.

then there is the issue of jimmy and his appeal. but that will take time. more cuts and restructure or extended contracts to come.

This scenario would not upset me in the least.
