A healthy Victor Butler would easily exceed 100 tackles, can't wait for his return. Good luck Will.

I sure hope you're right...

But, I just don't understand entirely how many on these boards are automatically assuming that Butler will be a beast for the Saints if healthy. He got injured last preseason so early on that we didn't even get that many reports of how he was doing on the practice field. And during his four seasons with the Cowboys he didn't even have a combined total of 100 tackles let alone have that in a single season. Now, I now he wasn't a starter with the Cowboys, but he did play in all of the games during those four season except for missing one in 2010 and he never had more than 25 tackles.

I'm hoping he'll be that monster for the Saints we're all hoping he'll be, but the reality of the situation is that we just don't know nor do we even have compelling evidence to suggest otherwise when you stop and think about it.

Could bring Shanly back, that's a tall order but he could get close.

I'd say we have at least some evidence that he'll play well... Rob Ryan. Rob coached him and probably knows exactly what he has in Butler going forward.

It is an unknown, but its not unrealistic to think he'd be at least average to above average for us.

True Danno, but even RR has only experience of him as a backup, and we don't really know what his plans were for Butler last season.

Regardless, I do agree with you that he'll more than likely be an above average player at his position, but I would still err on the side caution when claiming he'll be a "beast" next season.

Could just be an intentional distraction.

Re: Herring to Dallas NO MORE

IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys will not be signing linebacker Will Herring, according to sources.

Herring had agreed to a one-year deal Thursday but both sides agreed to walk away, which keeps Herring as a free agent. Because Herring never signed the deal, the team never made an announcement. A source said it was not related to a failed physical.

It was related to a failed Jerry.
