Ryan Griffin does not approve. Isn't he the reason we brought in his Tulane coach? I don't think we will be drafting a QB this year.

I agree that it's too early and we still have Griffin.

Let us not forget the guru we have at HC. Two QBs owe their success to Sean Payton's eye and ability.

Romo and Brees. I think Romo would have a lot less issues if he had Payton there.

We have plenty of time

Romo could be so much better without Jerry Jones, makes you wonder what might have happened say the Dolphins had signed Drew...

Jessica Simpson would've dated Kyle Orton?

Doesn't matter how good he is, it will not help us when he is gone in three years and signs his second contract for more than we will pay a BU QB. We are in that transition period where a BU QB experiment is a waste of picks but a starting QB will not be here when we need him.

We all saw what happened with Chase Daniel, the same will happen if we draft a QB this season. If Drew goes down in the middle of a season there are plenty of FA QBs with experience that can get the job done, and I would prefer we do not throw a rookie without play time to the wolves in week 11 if needed.

No one argues Drew has at least 4 seasons left, so a QB drafted this season would be gone the year before Drew retires if that happens 4 years from now. Next season is prime however for drafting the next Saints QB, he would get his rookie year to learn, his sophomore year to get some time when we have a lead, and he can be phased in his Jr. year while Drew is phased out. This way when he signs his second contract we know what we are signing as a starting QB.

With all the needs we have right now I just do not see it optimal to burn a draft pick on a second QB to ride the bench. :bng:

Yeah. Somebody around here - I think it's Danno - keeps saying our next QB is still in High School. That's about right I think. This is not the year to worry about drafting Drew's replacement.

I think I'd rather have Aaron Murray.

My thoughts exactly! I'd trade a first round pick for her. Him I wouldn't waste a late 7th round pick on. I would give him a shot as an UDFA though.
