Speaking of Cam, that is going to be another cap miracle by Loomis. Cam is going to command BIG money, and is someone I definitely see us keeping. As we continue to push cap money forward every year it is going to take some real doing to keep him. It may even come to be a him or Brees type situation if we can find that franchise QB come draft time.

As long as the cap dollars keep going up especially like this year we will be able to stay afloat for a few years. With more players up for contracts the more we will have to hit in draft instead of miss.

We'll always have money when we need it. We'll restructure contracts, make hard cuts and trades to free up space, and backload the contracts we give out to players as usual. No way Jairus Byrd plays out his contract without restructure. Same for Brees. Everybody will restructure at some point if you play for the Saints, or they'll just get cut.

Brees restructures next year, then the cap goes up to 150 million the next year, then 160 million the next year. We have basically no cap concerns after 2014.

I used to think that when Drew retired, the ride was over and the Saints would have to completely rebuild. But with this young defense, it's almost as if the Saints are beginning the transition to life after Drew. The Saints aren't a one trick pony.

I agree. We'll have time to get his replacement. I wouldn't be surprised if it's somebody like Matt Ryan or Matt Stafford.

Met Cam in Houston a couple weeks ago at a signing. Guy was a class act and can't wait to see him play with us for many years.
