GO BRONCOS!

All I have to say is the Saints are an extremely talented team and I don't feel extremely confident about this game at all.

I am a little shocked that your run defense hasn't played too well this season considering they have 4 1st round picks on the d-line. Darren Howard and Charles Grant can sure rush the passer and Denver's offensive tackles will have their hands full.

Denver's defense is currently 4th in the NFL in yards per game but they have struggled to stop the big play against Cincinnati and Atlanta and Champ Bailey can't cover all of your big three (Horn, Stallworth, Pathon). Plus, Denver's defensive line is struggling to get consistent pressure on the QB with Trevor Pryce injured and Bertrand Berry left via Arizona.

Anyways, I think its going to be a dogfight of the game but I love the fact Mike Shanahan has two weeks to prepare for it!

If you have time, please visit www.orangemane.com and talk some trash to my fellow Broncomaniacs. It's a friendly forum frequented by fans of various teams such as the Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers and Patriots and they always welcome game discussion with opposing fans.

Hi dude. I\'m a big Bama fan and I noticed you had 3 rookies in camp from Bama. Ahmad Galloway, Triandos Luke, and Santonio Beard.
Whats up with them? Are they on the practice squad? Does Luke play at all?
I know Galloway had a ton of potential but blew out his ACL during his Senior year and Beard has his own \"Ricky Williams\" type problems, and probably can\'t spell C-A-T.

I think in due time that Triandos Luke will be a pretty good #2 WR. You can\'t teach 4.3 speed. But I\'m sure he real raw.

Oh, brother ...

Welcome to the BlackandGold motel, DenverLB52. We\'ve been getting weekly visitors, some more welcome than others, but an interesting trend anyway. Must be an AFC thing...

Can\'t wish you guys luck (though some folks on here might), but I can wish you an injury-free whipping at the hands of our beloved dysfunctionals. I can also hope you guys come off the bye week just as ready to play as we were vs. the Chargers.

And Danno, had no idea you were a Bammer as well. This could be a rough football weekend ... but at least someone else stands to share my Iron Bowl pain.

Ahmad Galloway is no longer with the team. During his rookie year of training camp, the Broncos put him on IR with the intention of having his knee heal up and hoping another year of rest would do him wonders. Through the mini-camps, there were media members saying Galloway was looking good and his running style reminded some of Terrell Davis. During the preseason, he really didn\'t get much of a chance. Kind of got stuck behind the log-jam at RB.

Santonio Beard is currently on the practice squad. Is it me or is Santonio a RB with a gut? Look at his picture on the official team website, he has a fat double chin:

http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.ph...contentID=2084

I thought Galloway outplayed Beard especially in the first Washington preseason game, but Santonio has stuck on. I hope Denver keeps him around because from reading his scouting reports and following his career at Alabama, he seems like he has the gifts to play in the NFL he just had some off-the-field issues (with pot, which to me is not a problem at all. I would burn one down with Santonio!). Plus, I think its a running back\'s dream to play in this system and love to see the late round underdogs succeed and become stars.

Triandos Luke made some big plays in the preseason. Made a huge 70-80 something yard TD reception against Houston. There was no doubt he was going to make the team. So far, he has pretty much been limited to punt return duty and some weeks, the Broncos will make Luke inactive and have Rod Smith do the punt return chores. Luke has been non-existent in the offense. It\'s somewhat of a suprise, but Darius Watts was always the best rookie receiver on the team from day one. I think more than anything, Luke is adjusting to Shanahan\'s complicated west coast offense which is drastically different from the run heavy, conservative offense at Bama. Watts played at pass friendly Marshall.

Beloved dysfunctionals! HAHAHA!

I think when fans say to an opposing one, \"I wish your team the best of luck\", its one of the most ludicrious and bullsh*t statements one can say. I just feel like breaking their face.

Anyways, thanks for wishing my team an injury free ass whipping, but I am hoping we spank you like you did to us back in 1988 (41-0, one of the worst Denver games ever and I am still pissed off about it! :bandhead: :mad2: ).

Let us have this one and I will root for you guys to run the table all the way to Super Bowl XXXIX :D

Where (and what) did you & Santonio say you were smoking these days? Sounds like you must\'ve been down Jamaica-way when I was a few weeks ago...

Hey Denver guys. I noticed in the pre-season that Willie Jackson was on your roster at wide receiver. Do y\'all know how he did, or when you cut him, or if he had any good pre-season games? He was a Saint a couple of years ago, and we cut him because we wanted more speed. However, he was one of the toughest running receivers I\'ve ever seen. Never went out of bounds, and never went down without a fight.

I loved willie, I used to call him smokin\' Willie J. That guy would run around in traffic for more yards than anybody else. I always wondered what happened to him. Connell wound up in the CFL at some point!

I never understood why we cut Willie. He and Horn were the first Saints WRs to both have 1,000 yard seasons in... ever? In 2000, Willie Jackson had far more YAC than Joe Horn, and he showed he was a gamer by almost single-handedly winning the playoff game against the Rams. I think he had the hat-trick in that game. Good thing we got all that speed though, right? Why do you need a sure handed WR that can go across the middle when you\'ve got Donte and Henderson? LOL.

Henderson who? Jim Henderson?
Who\'s this Henderson fella?

Because they give us the deep threat, now if they can actually catch the ball wouldn\'t that be something? Seriously though, there was some flawed logic in that particular tactical move. If I am not mistaken we still seem to rely on Joe for the long ball, why the heck did we let Willie go? It\'s bonehead moves like that, that will likely stand as Haslett\'s legacy.

I also think it was an unnecessary pick just like the Stinch pick. I think both players will eventually be good players but Donterrious Thomas was there for the taking. I know its hindsight but Thomas would probably be our 2nd best LB right now.
Does anyone think Donterrious Thomas would have been inactive for 9 straight games?

In their defense I think there were still questions about both Joe and Donte\'s health. I think they thought Devery was hamstring insurance.

Another guy I liked was Earnest Wilford. A good tall possession WR.
I think he ended up going in the 4th to Jax.

But we need a Willie Jackson type. I posted that thought several weeks ago, but didn\'t get much response.

I miss Willie, too, but I\'m admittedly shocked if he\'s still playing. He was no \"spring chicken\" when we had him, and he\'s gotta be getting up there now.

I have a hard time naming a good \"over the middle\" WR these days. I was always a huge fan of Ricky Proehl (speaking of \"up there\"), he never posted huge numbers, but was incredibly reliable and always seemed there in the in clutch. I think he may still play for the Panthers.
The Cardinals used to have an \"over the middle\" guy (last name Green, I think), who I always liked to watch, also. I guess our best possession guy these days is Jerome Pathon.

Anybody else have an old (or present) favorite?

jerome pathon has been a good reciever for us...i think he could be pro bowl easy..if he had more chances..he has always been brave in the middle..not a big speed guy..but he has heart..and good hands...and has been really,... besides horn..our best reciever for a few years now...

It usually helps receivers\' confidence to know that there are \"clear-out\" routes designed to uncongest the middle. Given the current level of protection, the middle\'s still congested by defenders who\'ve not been cleared. Just a little protection goes a long way to opening things up, just see how the last 4 teams have torched the Saints D by giving just half a second more time.

It\'s going to be interesting to see who moves into the #1 receiver slot now that Joe Horn isn\'t going to see much of any time this weekend. Maybe now\'s the time to pull Henderson off the inactive list and have him and Stallworth alternate the \"long\" routes just to give Denver something to think about. Pathon\'s going to have a busy afternoon and he\'s not the healthiest either.
