I would also not be surprised if he doesn't make it onto the final roster. If what we saw from Griffin last preseason continues he might be the QB of the future. There's a reason they put him on the roster last year instead of taking the risk of losing him on the PS.

True, and it was because another team put a claim on him, so we called him up to the 53 to avoid losing him.

The coaches like what they see.

I do not know anything about Luke McGowan. I will read all about him.
Since the subject is up and the Saints are looking in that direction, GREAT!!!!!
I have not wanted to dare post, but the Saints NEED a qb. For the future, they need a qb.
Brees has been wonderful.
A real surprise.
In my opinion , he has been for me because I was not big on him when he was first signed. I thought, well, he can't be no worst than what the Saints have ever had: Hebert/Fourcade, Brooks, Old Stabler at that time, and I STILL cannot understand the Richard Todd thing.
Arch Manning gets a sentimental pass.
Brees has had more Saints' years of the past than he has of the future.

I think Loomis, Coach SeanP , Ms. Rita, and Mr. Benson are thinking in the right direction.

Yes, losing D. Sproles is a HUGE hole, but it happens.
Moving on.

Great signing, now I just hope it ends all this "we must draft a QB this year" nonsense.

Re: New Orleans Saints agree to terms with quarterback Luke McCown

I know we had that unfortunate "laces out" incident in Seattle last year, but I'm still not sure how I feel about letting the 23 year old kid who hasn't played a down in the real NFL yet, be the one holding the field goal or extra point that could possibly send us to the Super Bowl or playoffs, under ridiculously high pressure circumstances. For that job, you sorta want the veteran guy who has seen it all, done it all, been in every situation, and has ice water in his veins. Also the job of standing next to Payton and holding the clipboard and talking to Drew on the bench during defensive possessions; somebody with NFL experience may see things in the game, and be able to add to that conversation. That's why I like this signing.

They should have signed Billy Joe it may have prevented his jumping off that bridge and all. (Yes, I am that old!!)

Griffin will have growing pains, they all do but I would like to get a look at this kid in a live game.

Sticking with the young guy as the back-up was fine in 2010 when Chase held that job in his 2nd season and I think we'll do the same with Griffin.
