Or if we somehow manage to beat Denver, what happens exactly?

The Moonshiners cower in their closets, clutching their Jim Mora dolls to their heaving chests, pouting for the days of Swilling, Jackson, Johnson and Mills (the odds are heavily against their return, fellas, deal with it). Angrily certain that if that idiot Haslett would just throw away the rest of the season, the next Vince Lombardi awaits hiring and the next Joe Montana awaits drafting.

I ain\'t happy with Haslett, Venturi, McCarthy or Brooks but if the jokers managed to put something together, I wouldn\'t complain about it. Wanna take your own advice? Consider the odds that whoever we hire to replace these monsters will be any better. We\'ve been waiting on that savior for years, gentlemen, where is he?

I\'m listening...

WhoDat rejoices, but still praises Horn\'s effort.

LOL - Probably exactly right.

LMAO. How did you know about my Jim Mora doll? If only we had hired his son...

Oh, to answer your question - what happens if we win? The number of dreamers on this board grows substantially and we start to hear about how THIS year is different and the Saints really can make the playoffs with all that parity and all. Bring on Atlanta! Unfortunately, ATL beats the Saints in a game where Mike Vick sets 7 different NFL records, then the Saints beat Dallas and Carolina and people start saying PLAYOFFS, PLAYOFFS... then we lose to Tampa Bay again and manage to end the season, you guessed it, 8-8 and a game out of the playoffs. The Saints demote Venturi and promote Pease and people on this board applaud the move and begin to rationalize it. \"I always did like Haslett. A tough, defensive minded, players coach.\" 11-5 is predicted for next season, but alas the Saints finish... 8-8, going 3-5 in one part of the season for the fifth straight year in a row.

your not going to believe this..especially the way i have been bashing the team...but...

saints 31
bronchos 20

the saints manage to get the fire lit this week...only to crush our hopes again when the heat is really on...this will be one of the maybe two wins that we have left this year...

 Can\'t argue with that, I think a universal groan went up from the NFC South when Atlanta hired him. I wasn\'t sure if he\'d make it or not, but I was afraid he would...

P.S. - I think I was in line behind you buying my own Jim Mora doll. I got the one that has a nervous breakdown when you pull the string in it\'s back...

I agree because the Saints could win this one it won\'t be pretty especially if they can make it through the first quarter.

Definitely not good with Horn being questionable, not to mention covered by Champ Bailey.

Of course, I did pull him from my starting fantasy lineup, so he\'ll probably burn the Broncos for 150 and 2 tds.

More good news:

Saints Offense: 19th. Broncos Defense: 3rd.
Broncos Offense: 5th. Saints Defense: LAST.

This is going to be a fun one. I\'m changing my prediction. Broncos 77, Saints 10.

Mike Shanahan and crew had 2 weeks to prepare a gameplan to beat Haz/Venturi/McCarthy.
Do you really think Shanahan will spend all two weeks gameplanning against our boys? I don\'t. It\'s more likely he\'ll spend 45 during warmups gameplanning against the Saints. The rest of the time he\'ll be looking at worthy opponents.

I\'m not saying that our boys can\'t turn things around and play decently. It that they just wont turn things around and play decently. Saints still might win though. I have Jake Plummer in a fantasy league. I have Trent Green in the same league and he scored about half his average so factoring in my luck...

Plummer will get only one TD and have two interceptions. Droughns will go for 200 yards in 3 quarters. At that point Denver puts in 2nd team with a 34 - 13 lead. Oh yeah, Haslet will elect to kick a field goal with 10 minutes left in the game to make it 37-16 and it\'ll end that way.

I\'m sounding more and more like a moonshiner, but enough is enough.

I\'m going against the trend. Sometimes the Broncos look like the Saints, so I\'m going to go with

Saints 17
Broncos 13

in one hellofa defensive struggle. Lots of yards, lots of turnovers, lots of injuries (due to cut blocking nightmare).
