It's called a Living Trust. If you have a certain amount of assets, as Mr. Benson does, it's the only way to not get raped by the death tax.

So I guess they are giving it to his daughter. I don't know enough about the family to know if this is a good thing, but I think I heard someone say that he has been grooming her to take over? Sounds like a good thing if so.

Anyone with more knowledge of the rest of the league know if a family member succeeding a fallen NFL owner turned out well?

There is a hell of a lot of wisdom in Benson's years, notably his decision to not interfere. Successors usually come in with the mind that they saw problems for years and now have a change to fix them and make things "better".... Like moving the team. Rarely works out for the better.

In split inherited ownership someone always wants to cash out.

Live long and prosper Tom. I foresee your loss being bigger than Payton, Loomis, or Brees.

The Saints' heir apparent are Renee Benson their adopted daughter and her children Rita Benson LeBlanc and Ryan LeBlanc
