A while back someone posted the link to e-mail the governor when this mess started. Well with her latest statements I think it's time to do it again. Right now she is just putting her finger in the air to try and figure out which way the wind blows. Well I started sending 2 e-mails a day everyday to express my opinion; I wish you guys would join me in doing the same.


If she want to be a women about this, then I'm going to nag like one ! :P

You should read that other thread. While I agree that she\'s not taking the best posture, she is being blackmailed by Benson. He keeps talking about how the Saints aren\'t competitive and how if the State doesn\'t do something he\'ll leave. Sure... the Saints have the 8th MOST operating income in the league. More than teams in major markets like New York, Philly, Chicago, St Louis, and San Fran. Sure Tom, take your team to LA. You\'ll be movin again instide of a decade.

The point is, having the Saints in New Orleans helps Louisiana 20 fold over hurting Louisiana. Benson is trying to make money just like any other Bussiness owner, I don\'t understand why he is the bad guy here. Sports Wrap have even showed how Louisiana has the money for a new Stadium. Convention Center money + Nfl Help + money saved on inducements = close to what you need for a new stadium.

They may move again but it won\'t be back in Louisiana, and it won\'t be the same thing.

I hate to say it but thats what happens when you have a woman as govenor. Most women don\'t give a hell about sports. All she is concerned with is how it is going to efffect the state in the long run. It is kind of stupid in my mind to have the state have any say in the New Orleans Saints business anyhow. I guess thats what happens when you lease a state funded building. Gee why could we not put the Saints in the stock market like Greenbay. I don\'t know this might not work either since it is suck a bad market as far as avertisement goes nationwide. I mean it is sad when you have to go online to get Saints gear cause you live in Ohio.

I don\'t think it\'s a negociation tactic anymore, I think it\'s demands. Im hearing the selling price for the Saints is close to the B-word. Benson is frustrated because he is getting the attention and respect from a Major City, Yet Louisiana doesn\'t show the appreciation of having a NFL franchise when they are extremely lucky to have one to begin with.

Benson is not just a regular old business man. He has to shoulder some of the blame... or are you suggesting that if I move to NO and say I want to start a business I should demand that the State build my offices and pay me to do business there? C\'mon...

And THIS is bordering on narrow-minded and uninformed. All she is concerned with is how paying millions of dollars to renovate the Superdome and pay a sports franchise is going to have a long-term effect on the State... What the hell else is the governor of the state supposed to do? Make decisions with utter disregard for how the State will be effected?

Why is she involved in the Saints business anyhow? Because BENSON MADE HER GET INVOVLED. You think this is the State\'s fault? Benson DEMANDED money from the state. He demanded a new stadium, and all these other incentives. If Blanco decides to get \"uninvolved\" in the Saints, kiss \'em goodbye.

Learn the issue before spouting off about how women are just too stupid to be governors. :casstet:

How do you guys in Ohio and Texas become Saint\'s fans. I mean the Saints don\'t have that tradition of winning that some teams like 49ers and Cowboys have that comes with nation wide fans.

You might be hearing that, hell Benson might even be asking that, but the Saints aren\'t even CLOSE to worth that.

The issue is this, Benson is the Best NFL Franchise owner in the world and he is always right. Do you know why this is true, becuase he will be the only NFL Franchise Owner to ever keep the Saints in New Orleans. Whatever he wants, just put up with it. If his demands are so horrible then why are other cities so willing to take and triple it if needed.

No team is worth a billon you say, the NFL and LA would pay what ever it takes to get a franchise there. I think incentives and percentages of profits over time won\'t get there but it will come close.

I wouldn\'t have a problem with that. That\'s pretty true and positive. I think there are 4000 people employed in and around the New Orleans area due to the Saints including all the people selling tickets and who maintain the Dome. Of those 4000 people, about 60 t0 70 are millionaires.

As a proud Canadian, my father when I was just 4 years old, introduced me to football, he had me playing at five!, because his parents had always been so instructional, he took the opposite stance to them. He said I\'m a dolphins fan, been one since I immigrated from Scotland in 1971 (I wonder why!!) but I want you to choose your own team, so at the tender age of 6, in 1980, I said that the team with the fleur-de-lis reminded me of Quebec (where I lived&now live again) and so began a lifelong love affair with the saints. Times have been tough, but honestly there is nothing quite like loving something with the fiercest of passions. Although I am now married, I can honestly say that the Saints have been the one truly consistent thing in my life. I love that everyone here cares as much as I do. So you see, you don\'t have to come from Louisiana to be a true fan, that said it just wouldn\'t be the same thing if they weren\'t still in N.O.

The worst part about this loss was the fact that Blanco was there. That was a bad loss, Im gonna have up my emials to 3 a day now. geeesh.
