Don’t try to say you haven’t thought about how the Saints signed the top available free agent cornerback of the 2013 free agent class, selected the best safety available in the 2013 draft, signed the best available 2014 free agent, and then added, as the weak point in their secondary, future Hall of Fame member Champ Bailey.

You realize what’s happening here, don’t you? This is some pre-2009 level swagger stuff. This is Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis looking northwest, smirking, and planning a victory so satisfying that Lombardi Gras will seem like a trial run.

Simply upgrading where necessary with whom they can afford.

No bias toward any certain franchise, you never know who you'll face in the playoffs...

Because Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis saw what a lot of us fans saw (not all)
Corey white is in no way shape or form ready to be a Starting CB in the NFL

Certainly looks good on paper and sounds great but we'll just have to see how it all plays out.

Pretty simple really

Depth chart before adding a veteran CB...

Keenan Lewis (stud)
Patrick Robinson (injured inconsistent player entering make or break season)
Corey White (young promising rookie, very inconsistent)

And the "WHO???" list...
Derrius Brooks
A.J. Davis
Terrence Frederick
Rod Sweeting
Trevin Wade

I'm kinda surprised Bailey was the only proven veteran added.

Which is why I'm torn between WR and DB in the draft

2013 Saints receivers were poor in press coverage.

Champ excels in press coverage.

Champ Bailey will be used as Rob Ryan uses nearly all of his players, to his strengths. He will teach our younger defensive backs the finer points of press coverage, while also teaching our WRs how to beat press coverage in practice.

Its a win/win for Offense and Defense.

I think the guy is flexible and can be used at nickel or at corner. He's the backup and mentor to White and Robinson. Smart pickup.
