I know talking about this before we're actually out of playoff contention is frowned upon by some, but I've got a few people of interest for HC.

First, I've heard lots about New England's coordinators so I'll ignore them. The two I'm most interested in today are Tom Moore, OC of the Indianapolis Colts, and Jim Johnson, DC of the Eagles.

Both have been long time coordinators and are two of the best in their respective positions. I really don't know which side of the ball we should go on for HC. I know we're bad on D, but with our O and the right guy calling plays, designing the system, and deciding schemes and game plans we could be almost unstoppable on O. The D sure does need a lot of help though.

btw, on the what a nut side of things check out the intro for the Eagles site. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/intro/week10.htm

I hope that plays for ya.

take indy\'s OC and pair him with ron zook as a DC....

Can\'t argue with Judge. Haz is a former DC, and I don\'t recall having a defense during his tenure. Might as well utilize the talent we\'ve got...

I think you might be on to something here. The Mods will tell you that Crennel is the answer to our prayers, I don\'t think so. Where I would disagree with you is this, the saints need someone they truly respect. I think any co-ordinator might lack the charisma/savvy needed to elevate the talent to a more professional level. I have suggested Jimmy Johnson in the past, but I would give some serious thought to Fassel. He considers us a great option, he has a proven knack for getting the most out of his quarterback, a real team guy, who has been a Head coach of a superbowl team. Cynics will say the team fell apart under him, an objective analyst would say that a cycle ended. Haslett\'s cycle has ended, I think there is enough talent for Fassel to take this team somewhere special.

Yeah, Fassell might be a good fit, but, dang it, there\'s something I don\'t like about him. Maybe it\'s his comments made during the Ditka era or just after when Fassell referred to beating the Saints a couple consecutive times in rebuttal to Ditka calling the Giants soft.

Both of the coordinators I have suggested have been around forever...that gives them much more credibility than some unknown coordinator from pittsburg that happened to know the newly hired GM and had a connection to the Saints.

I\'m with you on Johnson, but Tom Moore? He\'s got the easiest gig in the NFL. Manning changes half his playcalling at the line of scrimmage, and Moore comes off looking like a guru. ;)
Maurice Carthon, if you want an O-coordinator to take over as head coach. He\'s studied under one of the best, and he\'s done so much with so little.

I never said Moore, for the reasons you said. I believe the only way this team is gonna enjoy success is with a PROVEN head coach. The personalities will only meld to a perceived higher being, anyone else is gonna get eaten up in the disarray. Like it or not, our team needs a persona to gel the underachievers, and inspire the would-be\'s.

I say Moore because he has taken a kid QB with lots of potential, helped him realize that potential, and turn into the kind of QB that makes Moore\'s job seem so easy. Manning didn\'t always make so many audibles and he still had great years. Not to mention I think the way they are doing things is a complete waste of time. Call a play and let manning make a change or two at the line by audible. To go over the entire alignment is rediculous. Plus, if Manning is good enough to do this...just let him call all the plays himself when in the huddle. That\'s an aspect of QB that I miss in football today.
