What you need Evans to do is blow up a CB who is trying to press him at the line and just catch a jump ball over a small CB.
That's called pass interference. You do need quickness. Every good receiver has a skill. You can't just maul people. And he hasn't even shown me that he's THAT physical.

Within the first 5 yards it isn't as long as the ball isn't in the air. Vaccaro blew up a couple of slot receivers off the line last year when he pressed and the Seahawks make a living off of it.

Re: WR

I would take the guy as a TE in a heartbeat 6'5 240 on a cheap contract, could be the steal of the draft. I'll take a physical player anyday!!

i can just see SP salivating on ways to get the ball to Cook.

First and for most a WR in round 1 you should have no questions about catching the ball. if drops are part of the history of a WR going into the draft I say pass. We have Toon play from last year to teach us a lesson. Plus need we forget Mechuem? that was a total waste based on hype size and speed. he had it all but drops were the big flag. then you have Henderson. same issue. players like these can be found late in the draft or as UDFA or in the refuse pile of cut players all day long.

We have enough slow big WR already IMO.
Colston will miss his usual 2 to 3 games as he does each year.
Jimmy looks to be ready to do the same each and every year.
Low hits are going to take their toll on the the big slow WR.
Rule changes have shortened the lives of these type of players.

The saints offense is complex so just any WR/TE will not do.

Now can they catch!
next can they handle the NFL tree for WR?
Now comes the physical attributes.
Upside as driving force for a pick is for later in the draft.
Oh yeah almost forgot can they block?
Danno and Sarik like this.
