I like this one....the way things are going I really think this is the way they are going....WR in 1st with Lee, Beckham, or Cooks....then will go after BPA with CB...I can see OL in 3 or WR (only if a lot of WR start coming off the board then I see us taking the one we like)

My dream draft

1. LB (pass rusher)
2. CB
3. WR
4. LB (inside/drop zone)
5. OL
5. WR
6. OL

We have found some of the best lineman to play on our team in Rds 5 and 6 (hoping for a repeat)

I don't like going by position, would rather look at the players. That doesn't mean best available player necessarily. If Beckham is there, I'll take him at 27 and count my blessings. But if he's not and say Marquise Lee is there instead, I pass and take somebody like Verrett instead. Gotta also think about who best fits the team.

There's no way to know who's going to be on the board at 27, let alone the rounds after that. It's really just a priorities list.

1. OC
2. OC
3. OC
4. OC
5. OC
5. OC
6. OC

till this spot is addressed it has to be our #1 concern. If Drew can not step up and takes hits like he did last year. one day he will not be getting up off the turf and the season is over.

once that is solved it is BPA all the way. The saints are sitting good going into the draft so to reach due to position is silly.

Exactly what I was thinking except I think 1st round will be LB/WR(whichever one is a cant pass up player). 2nd rnd. will be the other.

I can also see us taking a center in the 3rd or 4th.

Re: Choose draft positions 1-6

With the players I'd like it'd fall...

R1 LB (Attaochu, Ga Tech)
R2 WR (Moncrief, Ole Miss)
R3 LB (Tripp, Montana)
R4 C (Bodine, N Caroline)
R5 CB (Aikens, Liberty)
R5 LB (Jones, Shepherd)
R6 OL (Johnson, Vanderbilt)

I like Attaochu ,but he is projected to go 2-3 rd. I would like to pick up R. Shazier if hes available at 27.

You want to draft 6 Offensive Coordinators? :p

Re: Choose draft positions 1-6

1) WR (Cooks), if gone CB (Varrett)
2) QB (Garoppolo), if gone OC (Richburg)
3) Assuming no QB in 2nd then QB (Murray), otherwise TE (Niklas)
4) ROT (Kouandjio or Turner, N. Dakota St), if gone WR (Abbrederis)
5) CB (Aiken)
5) If no OC taken, OC (Larsen). If otherwise, WR (Janis)
6) OL (Brandon Thomas-goes to IR for ACL)

Re: Choose draft positions 1-6

Brees has at least 3-4 years left. I'm surprised how many people would like to draft QB. Wrong year. Needs: 2 WRs (1 in early rounds), 2 OL/C, LB (1st/2nd round), 1 CB, 1 DE/LB (prospect), maybe speedy RB/KR, maybe 1 player with huge upside (later rounds, recovering from injury...). You just can't fit QB with these needs.

Re: Choose draft positions 1-6

1.OLB/DE
2.OL center
3.CB look for a big safety that can play some man
4.WR
5.WR
5.QB
6.OL

Some do, some don't.

I'd like to pick the QB of the future now. 3rd round would be nice. Wouldn't want to take the bet that our future QB must be Griffin (although I like him, he was undrafted).

Now's good because we can resist the impulse to start a rookie/sophomore. Learn and develop under Brees at least 2 years. So many talented QBs are damaged physically or psychologically by starting too early and carrying the hopes of a lost cause.

Also, we may end up needing him sooner than expected. Aaron Rodgers went down for many games last year. Brady took over for Bledsoe. Montana-Young-Garcia was annoying, yes?

The "3-5 years left" for Brees could come sooner: injury, performance, contract/cap hit. Most GB fans may have been surprised when the front office decided to go with Rodgers over Favre, but I doubt many of us here were.

Some day but not yet. Bet our front office has at least a contingency plan that the time is 2016. Cap hit experts here may see the optimal breakpoints but what if our hand is forced sooner?
