Haz is a great coach as long as he has good GM support. Haz was a great coach when Randy Mueller was calling the shots. After Mueller was fired, Haz looked very below average to downright horrible at times. His career in New Orleans is probably close to being over, it could have been avoided if Benson would have brought in a decent GM to replace Mueller, instead of promoting his three headed monster concept, again.

If you look at recent Saints history, the common failure has been the lack of decent GM support. Mora failed miserably after Finks health declined. Mike Ditka never had a chance with the front office he had to work with.

The past three Saints coaches, Mora, Ditka, and Haz, are all quality coaches. They are not, however, quality talent evaluators and final decision makers. Bottom line, get a good GM to call the shots and let the coaches be field generals. In the most recent history of the NFL, I do not recall many good things occuring when head coaches are forced to take on front office responsibilities.

ahhh finally someone I can agree with... I agree the debacle we are experiancing is the firing of Randy Mueller. Benson ought to face up for the mistake, take it like a man and get him back. A real man can admit a mistake and correct it. So we get Randy back and let him start dealing with coaching changes and player changes. He has got to do something with Venturi... maybe demote him to ticket taker at the gates or something.

Frankly, Haslett has a few options for next year. Butch Davis looks like he\'ll be canned, and Miami is always still available. As long as he\'s out of NO, I\'ll be happy.

Buffalo might take Haz as a coordinator, but I dont see them ending the Mularky experiment yet. I wouldn\'t anyway.
