Crowded CB battle: It looks like the competition for jobs behind No. 1 cornerback Keenan Lewis will be wide open this summer...

Toon looks solid: Third-year receiver Nick Toon had a nice practice, including one catch he had to reach up and pluck out of the air.

A lot of fans seem eager for the Saints to move on from Toon and maybe replace him with undrafted rookie big man Brandon Coleman. But so far Coleman looks like he may need some time to develop. He dropped a pass Thursday, though it’s obviously an extremely small sample size so far.

Lots of Cadet: It felt like Travaris Cadet was getting the lion’s share of the workload among the Saints’ running backs Thursday, both when the Saints were doing run plays and passing plays.
Good read

Second-year outside linebacker Rufus Johnson appeared to be working as a 3-4 defensive end for much of the practice, signaling either a possible position change or a versatile role.
Yep, I hope he's put on a few pounds, or they're using him as a 4-3 DE. He didn't look like a 3-4 DE at all last year.

I know. He is either such a stud that they are trying to get him on the field or he's not doing well at LB'er. I've been hoping for a stud LB'er to come out of the group this year.

Like to see the team especially the d playing like its their last at ota's. Till a year ago we missed that for a long time. Playing and practicing with too much finesse almost timid. Now they play balls to the wall. Love it.

nothing is farther from the truth. saint fans would love nothing better than Toon or any player attending oTAs to step up produce. heck i would love to Mechuem have a break out season even. we are not that small minded. though blind loyalty does chaff us a bit.

Rufus goes around 280, that is big for a pass-rush LB but he could work into the role that Haralson played last year, strong-side LB in a 3-4 and coming down to the line on obvious run downs. He is a big strong dude, that's for sure.

Using Cadet so much at RB tells me this is a make-or-break year for him. He has to prove he can do something besides return kickoffs.

I think it is a make or break camp for him. Wouldnt surprise me to see him gone during camp cuts.I dont think this move really meas anything other than he is the most veteran of the guys after PT, ingram, and robinson.
