It is not Jimmy who needs a fire lit. It is his agent and Mickey Loomis and that fire is not scheduled to be lit until the deadline of July 15th. Don't forget that the Brees deal in 2012was not finalized until a couple of days before that year's deadline. This is the nature of contract negotiation.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I read something that said the saints offered JG a contract that was appx 1 mil short of the WR tag price and it was turned down.

To the best of my knowledge there have been no real offers. I am sure there have been discussions and I would not be surprised if a rudimentary deal may not already be in place. One major reason for waiting is that the longer the front office waits the more solid the remaining cap number. The Saints would want to fit as much of the deal under the current year's cap as possible while still leaving room for maneuvering to deal with injuries and such.

There was, however, speculation from some media outlets that a deal was likely in the range of $10M-$11M per year.

Theres no WR in team but there is TE

His production would be hard to replace if he left but our offense rolled before he got here, if it needs to it can do again

Jimmy is a great player but it was embarrassing to see him shouting at seahawks players prior to the playoff game and then finishing with like 1 catch for 7 yards, got to back it up if you wanna talk smack

The bright side is our backups are getting lots of reps. That can only help down the road.
I want Drew to have that comfort level with Cooks that he has with Jimmy. Don't forget that Coleman has some good height himself.
